Big room.
Nice and clean washroom.
Nice and helpful staff. My fridge didn't work but someone from maintenance fixed it right away. I needed some cutlery, someone from the restaurant brought it. I asked front desk for recommendations for tours and they were happy to help.

Everything was perfect for its price. The vibe in the house is full of warmth and coziness. The pets in the house were very close to people. You probably can't find any other better places than Hacho House in Yellowknife.

Easy to walk from Old Town to New Town (30 min) There are city buses but I have no experience
Many lakes to walk on, Ice cave to visit.
Prince of Wales Regional Museum worth a trip - much to see
Plan for Snowking Festival in March
Avoid Northern Light Tour company
Surprisingly, the grocery stores offered the same prices as Vancouver, and the restaurants weren't much more expensive than home.

Yellowknife is a remote location.
Yellowknife is a remote location. So you expect expensive food and accommodation, but we were disappointed to find lack-luster service. If you are looking for reasonably nice accommodations, expect to pay north of $300per night. Booking anything cheaper will disappoint.
The scenery, of course is one of a kind amazing! Just don't get your expectations too high when it comes to service.

We stayed at Yellowknife B&B and used Aurora Village for our tours. We highly recommend both of these to anyone traveling here!!
We cooked our meals (saved a ton of time and money) and had 1 stop shopping with our tours. This was a trip of a lifetime and we enjoyed every minute!

It’s so beautiful. Everyone is nice and friendly.
It’s so beautiful. Everyone is nice and friendly. We highly recommend the Bullock bistro. Food is so yummy. We also join the Artic Tour Canada for aurora hunting. The tour guid is professional and we really saw the aurora.
Loved the make-your-own breakfast. In fact, Rosa brought meat for sandwiches so we could have eaten lunch there too! Rosa went above and beyond, finding tour groups for us and giving directions. And her house was so neat and clean! Tiga was only a block away from the Explorer Hotel where the tour companies for Aurora, dogsledding, Buffalo Joe, etc. picked us up.
The best thing about this hotel was the front desk staff Tristan and the downtown location of the property. The price was far less than the other hotels but it becomes very apparent why that is the case once the security staff comes on and it seems to be a war-zone. The breakfast was passable and the breakfast staff was friendly.
On the only main street of Yellowknife, the Franklin Ave, close to the entrance of Yellowknife, the Ingraham Trail for hunting the lights, visitor center, city hall, museum and legislative assembly, old town, the popular bistro for local fish, the ice road, etc. The room was spacious, clean and relatively quiet.
The shower in the bathroom was absolutely amazing! It was like taking a shower in the rainforest, even though we were there in freezing weather.
The location was also perfect! It was secluded and private and close to a walking trail, but also easy to get to the restaurants of downtown.
Shirley is the best host you could ever wish for; she is caring, conscientious, and diligent.
We also loved the central location (a few minutes walk from Frame Lake, the main street, Barren Grounds Coffee, a grocery store, etc.) and homey atmosphere. A rare find!
Wonderful views out to the lake. Cozy room. A back garden and floating dock are steps outside. There's a highly-rated fish restaurant attached but unfortunately I didn't get to try it. Old city is the best location in Yellowknife for tourists to stay in.
The place was super comfortable and the host was really nice and accommodating as well! It really made us feel at home ☺️ if you’re coming to yellowknife and need a nice place to stay you should definitely come here ! (you’ll be greeted with pets too)
The location is great, the beds were comfy. It was a place to sleep which is the main purpose of a hotel. I love that it is within walking distance to the grocery store, Starbucks and McDonald's.
Nice hotel and good facilities. Good airport shuttle. Otherwise excellent stay despite during vicious lockdown. I requested high floor with a nice view to the North and they honoured it.
Fantastic host -- friendly, attentive, and informative. Knowledgeable about tourism. The house had everything needed and was a wonderful home for 4 nights. Flexible host!
Hotel was good and clean, staff was a lil issue. Nobody ever answered the call for room service, multiple times I had to go myself down to talk about any issue
very clean and tony provided all the information to go around Yellowknife and gave some tips to walk around the small town to make optimal use of my time.
