The villa was very clean, comfortable, well equipped, spacious and warm. We loved everything about it. We would highly recommend the villa and stay there again if we came back to Stanley. It was central and had great views.

Sarah and I just loved the location and fell in love with The Ark, the people and just the overall setting of the town of Stanley was magic. Chris and Rhonda make you feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. Perfect in every way!!

Nicely set up for tourists, with a wide range of accommodation options. A good base for exploring The Tarkine Drive (and some short walks along the route). Stanley has specially designed, red-lit platforms for admiring the little penguins coming ashore in the evenings. There is a nice, wind-swept walk around the top of the Nut, which hosts a colony of pademelon.

Penguin viewing, walking the town and enjoying a great coffee at Marley’s and excellent takeaway fish and chips from Hurseys. We arrived at 8 pm on Day 1. Spent Day 2 visiting the Tarkine area then walked around Stanley. Day 3 we enjoyed the Harvest Market - excellent for fresh produce, craft and music.

Accommodation was superb and pub was just across the road. If we had more time, it looks like a lovely little town to walk around.
Definitely take the chair lift instead of walking up the hill. Then you have the energy to walk around the top of The Nut.

Stanley is a beautiful town with lovely houses and places to eat, drink and shop. A trip on the chair lift to the top of The Nut was excellent. Icing on the cake was seeing the little blue o penguins come home after a days’ fishing.

We absolutely loved Stanley!
We absolutely loved Stanley! We enjoyed a beautiful breakfast at Marley's @ Sticks & Stones, Shells & Bones and then caught the chairlift up to the top of the Nut. We loved the sensational views from the summit and did the 45 minute walk around the top. We saw a couple of pademelons too.
At sunset, we went down to the beach to wait for the penguins to come in from the sea. We saw loads of them and they were so cute!
We also had a visit to Highfields House and enjoyed exploring all the rooms in the exquisitely restored mansion and reading up on all the history. There's lots to do in Stanley.
Typical old style hotel room of decent size with a nicely renovated bathroom. Comfortable bed. Centrally located - an easy walk to most places. We had a large balcony off our room with some water views, which was ideal for an evening drink and a take-away breakfast. Dining room menu (lunch and dinner) looked good. Hursey Seafoods is worth a visit for dine in or take away.
Chairlift to The Nut summit and walk around is worthwhile for the views.
All up, a pleasant stay.
3 couples in the 4 BR cottage which was absolutely delightful. Great location, can walk around to the main street or down to the beach. Nothing to fault. Loved the fireplace. Would definitely stay here again. Pick the key up from the hotel reception, then drive up around the corner to the house. Good parking. We visited the beach at the Stanley Conservation Park behind the Golf Club and it is gorgeous view back to the old houses.
Given it was off season and many restaurants/cafes were closed, we had a wonderful stay. We felt it was rather pricey at the rate we paid. Continental Breakfast was included however other daytime and evening meals were limited in comparison to other towns in Tasmania. Overall it's absolutely delightful; a beautiful facility without doubt; such a picturesque part of the world; great hosts and highly recommended and beautifully styled.
The town of Stanley is quaint and lovely. The apartment was sparkling clean. The views were amazing. There are several decks and sliding glass doors to look out over the sea. Everything is within walking distance. We were able to walk to the sea to look for the penguins at night and see the wallabies on the streets after sunset. The hotel was enjoyable to sit and have a drink and converse with the people in the town.
the friendly staff were more then willing to help with any questions we made of had about the accommodation. they had a bbq on site and even said they have oil and utensils at reception you can use if you need them.
we had more then our fair share of beers in the room and we thought it was great value you money!!
thank you stanley Seaview inn for your hospitality
Touchwood Cottages is our favorite place to stay. With its gorgeous comfortable furnishings and the friendly atmosphere - it’s always a delight.
Hosts Greta and Chris know exactly how to make everyone welcome and at home. The food is a celebration of all things Tasmania and the cafe is always buzzing. I’m still dreaming of the warm Raspberry and Fig Tea Cake.
Good location overlooking the waterfront. Easy walk to pubs, restaurants, cafe's and the NUT chairlift. Be sure to check out the Tasmanian Food and Wine bar - very eccentric. Breakfast provided was nice and simple - toast, cereals, yogurts, etc. Cooked break was available at an extra cost. Check in and out was very easy and owners were available if needed.
Everything, amazing location overlooking the bay, garden lanscaping was an amazing achiement with abundant rock walls beneath the towering iconic "Nut".
The communal lounge and library had a beautiful ambiance and was a great place to have an evening drink.
This is a must stay for anyone visiting Stanley, we will be back.
The best part of this place is its incredible view of Stanley. The kids loved the play area where they can play and see some very cute goats nearby. Fast internet, which is unfortunately not too common in Tasmania, felt like a blessing. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was nice and tidy, and heating was great.
Lots of room in the flat, great location just outside Stanley, right on the water with a beach view from our room. Lots of little wallabies roaming around at night. Very helpful host. Probably our favourite place we have stayed in Tasmania so far and excellent value.
I loved absolutely everything about this accommodation from cleanliness, facilities and decor. The owner was very helpful with what to do in the area. This accommodation was the best accommodation during our stay in Tasmania.
Away from the town the Post Masters Suite has a great old world, yet very modern atmosphere. When you have a clear night the stars are awesome. Even saw some little penguins wandering nearby.
