Our room was clean and homely, with breakfast foods presented on our bench beautifully. The video they send before you check in tells you all the facilities and how to access them, including where to park. It is on the Main Street of Stanley so we were able to walk to go to dinner and enjoyed a great view.

Nicely set up for tourists, with a wide range of accommodation options. A good base for exploring The Tarkine Drive (and some short walks along the route). Stanley has specially designed, red-lit platforms for admiring the little penguins coming ashore in the evenings. There is a nice, wind-swept walk around the top of the Nut, which hosts a colony of pademelon.

Penguin viewing, walking the town and enjoying a great coffee at Marley’s and excellent takeaway fish and chips from Hurseys. We arrived at 8 pm on Day 1. Spent Day 2 visiting the Tarkine area then walked around Stanley. Day 3 we enjoyed the Harvest Market - excellent for fresh produce, craft and music.

Accommodation was superb and pub was just across the road. If we had more time, it looks like a lovely little town to walk around.
Definitely take the chair lift instead of walking up the hill. Then you have the energy to walk around the top of The Nut.

Stanley is a beautiful town with lovely houses and places to eat, drink and shop. A trip on the chair lift to the top of The Nut was excellent. Icing on the cake was seeing the little blue o penguins come home after a days’ fishing.

We absolutely loved Stanley!
We absolutely loved Stanley! We enjoyed a beautiful breakfast at Marley's @ Sticks & Stones, Shells & Bones and then caught the chairlift up to the top of the Nut. We loved the sensational views from the summit and did the 45 minute walk around the top. We saw a couple of pademelons too.
At sunset, we went down to the beach to wait for the penguins to come in from the sea. We saw loads of them and they were so cute!
We also had a visit to Highfields House and enjoyed exploring all the rooms in the exquisitely restored mansion and reading up on all the history. There's lots to do in Stanley.
Everything about this property was excellent. It delivered everything it promised. While some accommodation looks good in the photos but is disappointing when you arrive this was not one of them. The property provided everything you could need. The view was stunning, the location perfect and the neighbourhood was quiet. The walking path was right out the front, the beach just a few steps further and a stroll to the Stanley Hotel for an excellent evening meal was a delight.
We loved everything about the Inlet! We stayed in the Oystercatcher and it was incredibly well thought out with amazing attention to detail, and included everything that we needed to make it a very comfortable stay. We really appreciated the complimentary bottle of wine and cheese too - what a lovely gesture and great way to enjoy the view. We would have definitely stayed longer as it's in a great spot to explore Stanley and the north-west.
Stanely is a beautiful place. The park is well situated to beaches, a town, a golf course, and fairy penquins come in on dusk as well as during the night wallabies come into the park. Most essentials are catered for. Modern furniture and facilities. An IGA supermarket is next door. The best of all is the scenic bay next to the park. It just has a lovely old-world charm in the village streets. A Heritage town of nthwest Tasmania.
We loved everything about the Mariner Rose.
The room was pure luxury and the bed was beautiful and very comfortable.
Breakfast was sensational and our wonderful host Amanda, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
We travelled on our motorbike and Amanda invited us to park it in her gated driveway, instead of parking on the street.
We highly recommend the Mariner Rose, as the place to stay in Stanley.
Lovely cottage in the heart of Stanley. Well appointed and comfortable with full kitchen. Communication from the owner was fantastic. We were in Stanley on a Tuesday and a lot of places weren’t open. It’s a small but busy tourist town, so make sure to book ahead for dinner. There is a small supermarket and a fish shop, so you can cook if needed.
We like everything about village waterfront accommodation. The staff was very welcoming and informative of the local area, and I would certainly recommend staying in this beautiful accommodation and area. We also felt so comfortable in a beautiful location. Also, I have to mention the bed and pillow were like sleeping in a cloud.....

Fantastic location in the main street across the road from the hotel and easy walk to the main seafood restaurant. Also a 5 minute walk to the chairlift/path to take you to the top of the Nut.
Older cottage but homely and comfortable for our two night stay.
We liked everything about the property. Attention to what travellers need was perfect. There was a place to put all our luggage etc which we have not found in Tasmania yet. The view was superb the staff were fabulous & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay
The location is stunning, with incredible views over Stanley and The Nut. The room was very clean and breakfast provisions were great. We stayed in Cowrie, and it had everything we needed. We loved our stay at Horizon and look forward to returning.
we LOVED everything about this place. The location, the accommodation, the short drive into Stanley. It was the high point of a wonderful week in Tasmania.
We didn't want to leave and will definitely be back.
Nina made the place feel like a home away from home. It was well set up and very comfortable. We could have stayed there for a week if time permitted. Great location and close to everything in Stanley.
Away from the town the Post Masters Suite has a great old world, yet very modern atmosphere. When you have a clear night the stars are awesome. Even saw some little penguins wandering nearby.
Stanley is a great place to visit and this property (the HALF HOUSE as we were provided) would be a great place for TWO people to stay.
The property is only a short walk from most of Stanley.
Convenient location close to shops and nearby restaurants. Clean, cosy and hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Loved the home made breakfast that was provided.
Very private self contained and beautifully situated to make the most of the incredible views. Easy access to the beach and a few minutes away from Stanley.
