Laurel and Sue were lovely hosts, very welcoming and made the best breakfast each morning. My room was so well appointed with a relaxed provincial style which I love. It was a very easy 8 minute walk into Lorne from our apartment and we could walk along the boardwalk or take the street paths. The beaches were lovely and gorgeous views from our balcony. The apartment was furnished and decorated beautifully. I could not fault anything and will be back again.

Our hostess Sally, has put together a very cosy, comfortable, romantic Parisian room together with great taste. Very large and comfortable bed, all the amenities you could possibly need. Great support if in need, prompt, friendly, professional and persistent. Great location, made getting around Lorne and beach very easy. Carpark guaranteed.

Lorne is a lovely place to stay, The beach is clean and good for swimming, and lovely to walk along in the evening. There are plenty of shops to look at, and a good variety of cafes, casual dining and restaurants to choose from. You can access all of Lorne without needing the car. There is a range of stunning walks that can be reached either by foot or by car, with a choice of difficulty ranging from stroller friendly to strenuous.

This was our first visit to Lorne and we were impressed from...

This was our first visit to Lorne and we were impressed from the moment we drove into town. It is bigger and more modern than we pictured, but not over-developed and certainly not crowded. The town is reminiscent of south-east Queensland, without the heat and humidity. The beach is perfect for young families: a gentle gradient and waves for all ages. There were too many eateries for our three-day stay – one of the main reasons we'll return. Ipsos Restaurant is extremely popular all day long, however, we walked in without a reservation. Captain Hooked fish and chips is well worth a repeat. The locally made Gelato is smooth and packed with flavour. Erskine Falls and Sheoak Falls provide opportunity for manageable bursts of exercise away from the beach, with a nice reward at the end, contrasting abundant tree ferns of the temperate rainforest with sea-side bracken. Short drives to Aireys Inlet and Anglesea afford further opportunities to experience the Great Ocean Road and expand the tourist options on offer with lighthouse tours, canoeing and surf lessons.

    Very pricey. Mostly friendly people.

Very pricey. Mostly friendly people. Had a miserable start to our stay our accommodation was horrible. We arrived and there was no one at reception. There was a sign up saying to ring a number which we did and it wouldn’t connect. Tried the door and it opened. There was a man inside who wasn’t much help. It was just horrible. Very unsettling. Very poor place to stay. 😞

I will always love the Cumberland. Our room was right at the front of the hotel so when we sat on the couch it was like we were right on the beach. The view was stunning. The rooms have great balconies, are very spacious and are very comfortable. I have loved the beautiful garden grounds of the Cumberland since I was a kid. Because Lorne is so hilly it is lovely to stay right in the heart of the town. We were so relaxed by the end of our long weekend. Lorne is my favourite beach town in Victoria.

Located conveniently minutes of drive from Lorne but in absolutely secluded quiet location overlooking river and mountains. Absolutely gorgeous! No reception or mobile, kangaroos hopping on the lawn, kookaburra hanging around, was great to see wildlife in its natural habbitat. Cabins were super clean and had all utilities and more: gas heater, cooking utensils, tea kettle, stove, soft bed and extra hot water, fire pit outside as well. Pleasantly surprised at entire holiday park set up.

We had a fabulous stay at Lorne Surf Apartments. The interiors are so beautiful and cosy that we decided to actually cook in and enjoy the comfort of the apartment rather than head out to dinner. Everything was perfect - the spa bath was amazing, the bed so comfortable, lovely view from our ground floor terrace (I enjoyed a coffee out there (with blanket!) in the morning. We also loved the ease of check-in with the door code. Would highly recommend.

Lorne is our home away from home; but Covid restrictions at the time had each household looking for somewhere new to stay rather than all together as a big family. My husband and I stayed here and were absolutely delighted by the service, the room, and the location. The linens were so comfy we even decided to buy the same doona for our own bed at home! This is a stay worthy of the gem of a town it’s in.

The view is really nice and the best thing about the place. The furniture is reasonably comfortable for a rental house and the kitchen has essential cooking items. Close to the beach, although it is not a good beach for swimming or surfing and it is a steep walk up the hillside from the beach to the house. Short drive to Lorne beach, town and shops.

Perfect for a family of four. The house was clean, comfortable and cosy and only a short walk to the centre of Lorne and the beach. We appreciated the variety of games and dvds available and the host was prompt in addressing our concern re: internet outage and was accommodating of our request for a slightly earlier check in time.

We stayed in the California studio, which was brilliant! Spotlessly clean, super-cool and inviting, with a great outdoor area and spectacular views! Proximity to the Lorne Hotel being another big plus! We had a spectacular stay, and look forward to coming back when we're next able to get out to Lorne!

The location is beautiful, back off the beach a bit but elevated and nice views out the front. And lorne is a beautiful place. The house was obviously very upmarket in its day. TV's in every room, the couches are very comfortable and the place has everything you need like a home away from home.

Our room overlooked the tennis courts and we had partial waterview. The hotel has direct beach access and is located on the main street of Lorne, making it walkable to shops and restaurants. The breakfast and dinner we had in the hotel restaurant were both very good!

The best about the house was the great view of the ocean and Lorne, both from inside and the deck. The beach was literally down the road and Lorne was a 10 to 15 minute walk.
