Laurel and Sue were lovely hosts, very welcoming and made the best breakfast each morning. My room was so well appointed with a relaxed provincial style which I love. The bed was so cosy and comfortable and I loved walking out onto my veranda to relax. The location was excellent, just a short walk to the beach.

It was a very easy 8 minute walk into Lorne from our apartment and we could walk along the boardwalk or take the street paths.
The beaches were lovely and gorgeous views from our balcony. The apartment was furnished and decorated beautifully.
I could not fault anything and will be back again.

Our hostess Sally, has put together a very cosy, comfortable, romantic Parisian room together with great taste. Very large and comfortable bed, all the amenities you could possibly need. Great support if in need, prompt, friendly, professional and persistent. Great location, made getting around Lorne and beach very easy.

Lorne is a lovely place to stay, The beach is clean and good for swimming, and lovely to walk along in the evening. There are plenty of shops to look at, and a good variety of cafes, casual dining and restaurants to choose from. You can access all of Lorne without needing the car. There is a range of stunning walks that can be reached either by foot or by car, with a choice of difficulty ranging from stroller friendly to strenuous.

This was our first visit to Lorne and we were impressed from the moment we drove into town. It is bigger and more modern than we pictured, but not over-developed and certainly not crowded. The town is reminiscent of south-east Queensland, without the heat and humidity. The beach is perfect for young families: a gentle gradient and waves for all ages. There were too many eateries for our three-day stay – one of the main reasons we'll return. Ipsos Restaurant is extremely popular all day long, however, we walked in without a reservation. Captain Hooked fish and chips is well worth a repeat. The locally made Gelato is smooth and packed with flavour. Erskine Falls and Sheoak Falls provide opportunity for manageable bursts of exercise away from the beach, with a nice reward at the end, contrasting abundant tree ferns of the temperate rainforest with sea-side bracken. Short drives to Aireys Inlet and Anglesea afford further opportunities to experience the Great Ocean Road and expand the tourist options on offer with lighthouse tours, canoeing and surf lessons.

Very pricey. Mostly friendly people.
Very pricey. Mostly friendly people. Had a miserable start to our stay our accommodation was horrible. We arrived and there was no one at reception. There was a sign up saying to ring a number which we did and it wouldn’t connect. Tried the door and it opened. There was a man inside who wasn’t much help. It was just horrible. Very unsettling. Very poor place to stay. 😞
The view from our top floor apartment was of tree tops and mountains. Native bird sounds filled the air while the fragrance of the Australian bush after rain surrounded us. It was beautiful and all the more appreciated because the stormy weather made indoors a preference for some of our time in Lorne.
After crossing the road, we enjoyed walking on the boardwalk by the river which we crossed via the hanging bridge to reach the beach. Reception was friendly and gave us a number to call for any help we might need.
Very happy with our stay at Cumberland, the room was spacious and well laid out, it was clean, the bed was comfy, staff were friendly, had underground parking. The ocean view was stunning. It was also close to everything in Lorne. We only stayed a night as we were passing through, would've been more than happy to stay at Cumberland for a few nights. If we ever stay in Lorne again, we will be looking to see if Cumberland has rooms available.
Loved everything about our visit to Lorne and this hotel. Great location & view from room, comfortable and cool styling, fantastic shower (water pressure is everything 😄), very attentive staff and the Coda restaurant dinner and service was exceptional. Great time of year to visit the area, outside of the crowds but still beautiful clear water and clean beaches and that autumn light. Looking forward to our next stay here!
Loved the location not far from town. Lorne, the Great Ocean Road and the Otways were also just stunning!
The house itself was fantastic, very modern, clean and everything was as described. The host (Julie) was also very helpful. The security Bond was returned within 24 hours which was unexpected.
All-in-all, a great holiday house and I would definitely stay there again if the opportunity arose.
The house is dirty needs professional cleaners, the bed is uncomfortable the bathroom and toilet is old could be a lovely place needs updating and cleaning the driveway is dangerous .pet friendly house but there is rat poison left out side where a dog can get it .over all location is good but I would be embarrassed to charge people money to stay there
We stayed at the Lighthouse cottage for 2 nights. Beds were comfortable and each bed was provided with an electric blanket. The house has enough heating appliances to keep it warm during winter. Our kids enjoyed feeding the parrots and tire swings. Mommy loved the ambience of the interiors. Daddy liked the fireplace and barbecue.
Our room overlooked the tennis courts and we had partial waterview. The hotel has direct beach access and is located on the main street of Lorne, making it walkable to shops and restaurants. The breakfast and dinner we had in the hotel restaurant were both very good!
The location of the Mantra is ideal.we parked our car and didn’t need to use it again until our 3 day stay was over. We ate at the Mantra one night which was very good. Our room was comfortable warm and clean. Highly recommend the Mantra Lorne
stayed in room 109. fantastic water view and right next to Lorne hotel so no need for car as walking distance to everything. staff extremely friendly and helpful. pool sauna great as weather was unfortunately not best for beach.
Great location, right near the Lorne Hotel for dinner/drinks, walk to coffee/restaurants or beach. Room was nice and clean - our first overnight stop along GOR so appreciated really friendly staff and nice room, great value.
Cleanliness; relaxing space; well stocked kitchen with all the utensils and key pantry items required for family cooking. The pet friendly set up with bowls and toys were a hit with our fur boy Storm too.
Great place for our family group. Overall suited our purpose very well with nice views and living areas. All enjoyed the house. Very dog friendly. Collingwood AFL ornaments were depressing, LOL.
The host went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. The house had a great living and dining space and the deck was great for the group and looking out over Lorne
We have been staying in Lorne a long time and this was probably the best view we’ve ever had. It was stunning. It has most of everything you need for a short stay.
The location, access and cleanliness was good. A short walk to everything on the Lorne foreshore - endless choices of cuisine and a bunch of interesting shops.
Ideal situation and very clean. Attention to detail.
The property was very clean. Everything was available. Pet friendly and very clean. Highly recommended.
