we enjoyed the location, the little and charming bungallows, the rich breakfast and the outstanding multilingual staff. Additionally, the activities to do are numerous (biking, hiking, kayaking...) if you would like to avoid the touristy Hallstadt. You can go by bike anywhere, even to hallsdtatt.
We drove from Vienna to the localtion of the hotel. however, you can also arrive to hallstadt by train and then rent a bike to the place; or travel to town of Obertraun (Obertraun train station is 20 min walk from the hotel).
The staff will recommend (and make the bookings fro you) at many great and good quality restauratnts.

We stayed in Obertraun as a base to explore Halstatt but found as our trip got closer that there was a lot more to do in Obertraun and Halstatt than originally thought so our one night stay turned out to not be long enough. If I were booking again I would definitely stay two or three nights so we could explore the salt mines, walks and view points.

We stayed in Obertraum so we could take the ferry to go to Hallstatt by ferry. The ferry ride was amazing, heavenly peace and tranquil. However, we did not know enough about the area. Obertraun is probably the best place for easy access to Hallstatt (besides being in Hallstatt itself). Bike rentals are easy and the bike ride to Hallstatt is also easy with very little elevation change. Lots of biking in the area.RandyUnited States - 10Scored 10

Perfect location, fantastic view to Hallstatt and the mountains. Easy to reach Hallstatt even with bicycle, Dachstein and mountains are also very close. House is only 40min walking from Hallstatt town centre, you can see part of lake while you are walking which is amazing(the reason i booked). If you wanna take 543 bus that’s the another option to go Hallstatt only a few minutes. Between Obertraun station and Hallstatt banhoff only 3 minutes by train and not more than €2. And also location is very close to Cable car. I would definetely recommend the Haus Alpenblick Zafer Best regardsZaferUnited Kingdom

Mark gave us a lot of tips and where to eat and made sure that we have everything. They also have a very adorable dog 🐶 The room is very cosy and not to mention the view is phenomenal. The breakfast is limited however there is everything. The train station is only 7min away and 3 stops from Hallstat. We hope we get to stay here again in the future ❣️

We can also see Hallstat on the otherside of the lake. The lake with the mountain view is breathtaking, I wish I can stay longer. This place is highly recommended. It feels like was have our own vacation house in Austria because it was very relaxing, calm and quiet. Also, the bonus part is we were able to swim in the lake and kayaking.
