Very friendly and service minded staff, clean rooms and facilities. The view over the town is magnificent, I suspect Thabazimbi being more of a business destination, hence us more or less having the hotel to ourselves.
Highly recommended.

I loved waking up to the beautiful mountains views. It is exactly what I was looking for, the view, serenity, a running/walking trail for those who like that, perfect for someone who wants to have a peaceful place that feels like home away from home. The kitchen and the bathroom are spacious. And she was kind enough to let me park my car under the shade since it was raining.
Laurette (the owner) made sure that I was comfortable as possibly as I can. She was also kind enough to educate me about her plants and for letting me have her tasty fruits that were ripe in her garden. I also got some plants to plant back in Jhb. The hospitality at Van Ross was out of this world. I feel like I am part of the family now.

Lovely town, great mountain views, mining history, friendly people, relatively quiet. Marakele Game Reserve is nearby. It also offers great restaurants with a wide variety of foods. In summer, it is usually very hot and therefore I will recommend sun protection.

Be prepared to experience a very hot climate!
Be prepared to experience a very hot climate! Thabazimbi is home to the Marakele Nature Reserve. Beautiful farmlands welcome you as you take the last turn-off to the right towards Thabazimbi town. Thabazimbi's cemetery shows off with some of the most beautiful and interesting tombstones.
We booked the luxury tent as a family of 5. The tent is quite spacious and has the necessary facilities, equipment and comfort for a self-catering venue. The tent has an air-conditioner which is helpful in the Thabazimbi heat. I also liked the Jacuzzi outside the tent and the patio where we could enjoy our breakfast.
We spotted some animals in the lodge.
The Waterpark was a hit for kids and adults. The pools were clean, and not overcrowded, the residents and day visitors were well-mannered. The water kept us cool during the entire stay.
The guesthouse had all the facilities and appliances that a person can ask for which was excellent. They even had a generator which I did not expect and which made the loadshedding a non-issue.
The staff was very friendly and made me feel welcome. Overall an excellent stay. I would have loved to stay for longer and I will definitely be staying here for my next stay in Thabazimbi.
They denied me access and had to sleep in the car despite booking and paying. I drove 42km to and from Thabazimbi cbd only to be turned away saying they don't have my booking. Until now, am not refunded my money that I paid.
I will never book at this Lodge again.
May you please assist with my refund
Thank you

Wow,what a lovely place to spend the night, the hosts were fantastic.
They went out of their way to ensure we are comfortable and taken care of.
We will definitely visit them again when we are in Thabazimbi.
I did not book for breakfast, but the location was okay.
The receptionist was very friendly and he made me feel welcome. Every time I have to work in Thabazimbi this is the place that I will book.
Amazing views over Thabazimbi, great service from Agnes and Lois. Good home cooked food and plenty of parking. Definitely recommend, easy to get to Marakele park from here.
This was right in the bushveld, I would recommend if you work in Thabazimbi go sleep at Marula cottage guests lodge. Once you arrive you forget about work
