Breakfast was good and in a spacious ballroom-like hall. Car parking is nearby and charges were fair (500 yen per day). Our room was spacious. There is a laundry facility available, an important factor when we book our hotels.

One word- UNDERRATED!

I had 5x as much fun here than expected. Sand Dunes? Sure, cool. But the list is long: the impressive Uradome Coast, the cute Hakuto Shrine for lovers, Chinese Garden Enchoen with cheap Chinese dress experience, Togo Lake surrounded by onsens, Mt Daisen dressed in its best autumn colors.... and everything is super fun! I can't recommend this destination more. Just brace for some challenging public transport. It's doable by buses etc. though. Use Japan Transit Planner app if Google Maps doesn't show you the route.
I was here 5 days but I think 6 would be better (I wanted to see Shoji Ueda Museum of Photography and a yokai manga museum).

Dunes weee amazing.
Dunes weee amazing. But avoid summer days with no cloud cover. The sand gets insanely hot! The French’s renaissance house and gardens were great in the front of the castle ruins and well worth a visit.

Was a great family trip.
Was a great family trip. We enjoyed a lot sand dunes and museum. Kodomonokoukoku park was also above expectations. The sea clean and nice. Spent there only 2 days, but wished we could stay a bit longer and see all the coastal line.

Tottori Sand Dunes are breathtaking!
Tottori Sand Dunes are breathtaking! We could have enjoyed longer.
Sand museum was an amazing experience. One can feel how much work and passion is behind those pieces of art!
We did not have enough time to
enjoy fully...one hour was not enough, but we were happy to have the opportunity to see them!

Tottori is a very nice place to visit at any season!
Tottori is a very nice place to visit at any season! You can walk around the city and find very cute small places to enjoy a warm cup of coffee and handmade scones at "cafe nee" or at night enjoy local beer at "beer bonds AKARI". For travelers with children, Warabe-kan is highly recommended. There are many activities children can enjoy, like play music, sing, and experience playing with japanese toys.

The Sand Dunes/Geo Park are a must see, and easy/cheap to get to. The coastline is stunning, and the delicacies of the region (crab, shallots, asian pear, and more) are delicious. There are loads of restaurants and parks, castle ruins, and a childrens Toy Museum with lots of hands-on activities (Warabekan). We took a train to neighbouring Yonago City, and hiked around Mt. Daisen. Lots more to see there, as well. I would go back to Tottori both to explore the city (and it's food), and the many outdoor activities.
A friend and I stayed for a night. It was cozy and I loved that the owners went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The proprietress gave us a ride to the train station and made us a bento on our final day, she was supper sweet! It’s a close walk to the shrine I wanted to go to and only an hour, taking Japanese public transportation, away from the sand dunes. We had the Japanese dinner (I recommend the mango juice) and everything was so inexpensive compared to its fantastic quality. Here are a few photos of our meal and the bento.
This hotel was a short walk from the train station and had a wonderful, welcoming staff. The small room was clean and tidy and provided a haven while storming and rainy outside. The breakfast was basic yet good, and there were amenities nearby, such as a Starbucks and kombini. When I had to wait longer than anticipated for a train to leave, they kindly let me stay in the eating area while I read with my luggage.
The location is perfect. It's right next to Tottori station. The male staff that checked me in spoke English and was very professional and accommodating. I visited in summer, and he very graciously gave me iced water in my tumbler. The washing machine also had a real dryer, so clothes came out warm and dry-perfect if you're planning to travel light.
I was surprised. The hotel was amazing. Best thing, we could take our dog. Also surrounding hotels don’t don’t allow dogs so we felt we were in our house and staff was so friendly. We could play the piano and just relax in the lounge. Nice nature. Breakfast was different everyday. Enjoyed. Basic but great.
the facilities are super clean and comfortable..
loved their shared space in 2f.. also the staff is so kind n considerate, I had booked a mixed capsule but they helped me to change to female capsule even without me asking.. the location is also quite close to Tottori station, 7-8 mins walk..
The free drinks (wine, champagne, sake and more) in the lobby were a big plus ;)
Very friendly and professional staff, good breakfast.
The room is very good, and the hotel is really nearby the train station, and the bus stop to go to the beach.
Overall a very great stay! Thanks ;)
It's a good capsule hotel, as far as they come. The location was really good, as was the free parking (which is always nice, in the middle of a downtown area). Shower rooms have lovely pressure, and the locker rooms for extra luggage are nice too.
There are few accommodations in Tottori and I chose this traditional one near the train station. The rooms are quite old and the bathroom could use some updating. But the owner is very nice and the traditional Japanese breakfast was amazing.
So surprised to find such a nice traditional Japanese Onsen hotel in Tottori. Friendly staff and delicious breakfast. Stayed in a few onsen hotels during this trip and this one offers great amenities and service.
A notch above the typical business hotels, with good sized rooms and a mid-size public bath. Well above average breakfast buffet. Easy walk to the station. (And an excellent ramen shop on the corner. 😎)
Lovely hotel, professional and friendly staff, comfortable and spacious rooms. Coin operated washing machines, onsen available. Parking close by.
Coffee vending machines on ground floor.
Short walking distance to Tottori Station and bus terminal. Around 40 minutes' bus to Sand Art Museum and the dunes.
Took the triple room for 2 persons. Comfortable.
