I would have liked to have walked in the downtown area but I didn't know how to pay for parking. The main purpose of being in Ballarat was to visit Sovereign Hill which we could have spent so much more time at. This was better than we had expected. Ballarat is a historical gem, it reeks of history everywhere you go and is easy to get around. The restaurants, cafes, pubs and people we met were all great. Lovely historic town.
Lovely historic town. I came for the marathon this trip and only stayed the weekend. Have been before many years ago and was reminded what a terrific place Ballarat is. I'll be staying longer next time

Brekky provisions included quality bread, bacon & eggs. Mary Anne and Richard made us both very welcome. Stunning old home in a leafy street with shaded parking. The unit is at the front of the private house at the back. Ridiculously cheap tariff for this place - I couldn't believe the value for money.

This has been our favourite! The house is beautiful, comfortable and very clean. It’s in an excellent location. They went above and beyond by having a well stocked panty with the basics, plus milk in the fridge and a coffee machine. Excellent communication from the owner. If we come back to Ballarat we will absolutely stay here!

( Stay on left hand side of building as you drive in, as newer,) but otherwise was of the same standard when we stayed on right hand side. It's an older style hotel with some refurbishments. The bed was comfy and it was good to have a restaurant next door. We ended up eating dinner in town and it only took us 5 mins to get there.
