During our 16-day holiday in Japan, my husband & I, together with another couple, stayed in 7 ryokans/hotels & Iseya is the BEST! The hotel is new & clean & the facilities are so good! We opted for dinner & breakfast in the hotel & we were so happy & satisfied with the quality & freshness of the food & service level of the attending staff who went beyond their call of duty to make us comfortable! Special mention goes to a male service staff (I think he is the supervisor; forgot his name but was Mayama or something) who served us dinner on 15 Nov. We wanted to order a bottle of red wine & sake to go with our dinner & asked for his recommendation. The sake he recommended was so good, we decided to buy 2 extra bottles to bring home! When this same male service staff heard from us that we had to rush off to catch the ferry to Kumamoto the next morning & breakfast only starts at 7.30am, he left word for our breakfast to be ready earlier. We were pleasantly surprised & so grateful that a new batch of service staff were waiting for us at the dining room when we went down to checkout at 7.20am on 16 Nov. Really fantastic service! Banshoukaku is offering accommodation in Tsushima. The air-conditioned accommodation is 35 km from Watatsumi Shrine. At the ryokan, every unit has a private bathroom. The location was perfect with many shops in walking distance. The proprietor was very kind. The 3 breakfasts we got were different each day, authentic, and delicious. Room was cleaned everyday while we were out.

Boasting 4 indoor/outdoor hot spring baths, Yuyado Unzen Shinyu is located a 30-minute drive from Shimabaragaiko Train Station. Free Wi-Fi is available at public areas. Everything - the room, service and food were all exceptional.

Unzen Kyushu Hotel is a minute's walk from Unzen Jigoku and an 18-minute walk from Unzen National Park. The ryokan features luggage storage space. Great service, food and location.

Nisshokan Bettei Koyotei is located in the Nagasaki Area, a 10-minute drive from Nagasaki Peace Park. Featuring views of the beautiful Nagasaki, it offers a public bath and free parking. This hotel is a little out of the way, but really worth it for the view. It's relaxing to see Nagasaki from above at different times of day. The staff were so friendly and always smiling and greeting guests, even giving us big waves as the station shuttle departed. I recommend taking advantage of the shuttle bus because while the city bus gets near the hotel, it's a steep mountain and the remaining walk is quite intense. The included breakfast was high quality.

Nagasaki Hotel Seifu provides Japanese-style and Western rooms with sweeping bay and city views. It features indoor and outdoor hot spring baths, karaoke rooms and free Wi-Fi at the lobby. Price quality, amazing onsen experience with tons of food in the morning and evening. The bath is very nice and is large! For the price this might be one of the better stays in Nagasaki. But only if you have a car rental. If the dinner is to expensive, only take the breakfast. It is a wide variaty of food. The pictures shown on the page are for the dinner.

Boasting public baths and a sky lounge with beautiful views of Nagasaki, Inasayama Kanko Hotel is a 10-minute drive from JR Nagasaki Train Station. View was amazing. Staff has been very helpful and friendly.

700 metres from Nagasaki Station, 和みの宿 おりがみ is a recently renovated property situated in Nagasaki and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. I had a great time here! The room was huge and they provided a range of amenities. The bathroom was clean and well kept, and a fridge and kettle were provided in the room (a microwave was available outside the room). The coffee provided in the room was really nice! Location-wise it was close to transport and amenities as well as being easy to find.

Set in Unzen, 19 km from Unzen National Park, kangetsusou offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The ryokan features family rooms. Very quiet and comfortable, lovely room. Good parking.
