Located in Kirishima and only 9.2 km from Kirishima Jingu Shrine, Kirishima Momijidani Seiryuso provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The place is truly authentic, ppl may describe it as old but it's can't be more wrong. I would describe it as rustic and serene, especially with the river beside it. Yes!! A running river, not much of a great sight but the sound of flowing water bring peace to your soul. Also, there's a private and excusive onsen beside the river, you just have to reserve it. Now to the most important aspect, the staff of Seiryuso.The hotel manager, Kajiki san set the benchmark for top notch hospitality. He has a bubbling personality, always giving out good vibes and positive energy. Always ready to serve and provide service. Always service with a smile.😊😊😊. Well, Japanese are known to provide great service but this is a whole other level. A special shout-out to the restaurant crew, specifically the service staff, didn't manage to get all their names other than matsuyi san. Kudos to the other gentlemen that provided the service.

Yurian is located in Ibusuki, 10 km from Ibusuki Onsen. There is a pool and hot springs bath on site. Pool and hot springs bath water are replaced 2 times a day. All their staff were very warm, friendly and super helpful. Love the Spring onsen plus a separate spring swimming pool in the villa. Amazing views!!

Offering a garden and mountain view, Iseebisou is located in Ibusuki, 49 km from Kagoshima Station and 17 km from Chiran Peace Museum. Good location, can see sunrise and sunset. Excellent food, dinner have 4 courses with lobster 🦞

Situated within 47 km of Kagoshima Chuo Station and 48 km of Kagoshima Station, Bihadanoyu Koshikano Onsen offers rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Kirishima. Very authentic Japanese onsen hotel with amazingly kind staff, brilliant food in their restaurant and private onsen!! It is located in a beautiful space surrounded by the mountains. I wish I stayed longer, it was truly an amazing experience and so relaxing.

Hanon～波音～ has sea views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Tatsugo, 1.1 km from Kurasaki Beach. 30 km from Amami Marine Exhibition Hall, the ryokan offers a garden and a bar. It’s a family owned guest house with mother, father and two kids born 2020 and 2023. The father speaks English and that is friendly and eager to help. The common area is the same as the family’s private space. As a family you have access to a big bath tub big enough for four people. The house is made out of mainly wood, which is spacious and cozy. They created small areas for kids to play. Example a small ropeway. The father likes spear fishing. Relaxed atmosphere and helpful family made the trip to Amami really pleasant. Recommended.

Situated just 8.9 km from Kirishima Jingu Shrine, Kirishima miyama hotel features accommodation in Kirishima with access to an open-air bath, a garden, as well as luggage storage space. The room is a basic tatami room with futon. What makes this place stand out to me are the numerous bath houses…there are 3 outdoor baths as well as an indoor bath. All can be accessed privately with a key system which makes it very relaxing. Breakfast was excellent. Staff was very kind and polite.

A 5-minute walk from Tenmonkandori Tram Station, Nakahara Bessou offers Japanese-style and Western accommodations with a flat-screen TV and refreshing public hot-spring baths. The staff are very friendly and make great efforts to help. The hotel is traditional with kind of unhurried pace and subtle respect to guests. Location is best especially for visitors on short visits to Kagoshima.

Japanese-style rooms with Nitanda River views, green tea and traditional futon bedding await guests at Ryokan Kawakyu, located a 8-minute drive from JR Ibusuki Train Station. Ibusuki was a bit too quiet (not a single sand bath open) when we visited but our stay at Kawakyu was what made it a good trip. You get to bathe in onsen water when you arrive, a few meters away from your room. The ryokan hosts were very nice and helped with rides, as it's tricky to go around without a car. Overall we're very happy to have picked this place.
