But the best was the host, Mr. Bungo, he was extremely friendly, helpful and patient. His English proficiency is exceptional and he really knows his city and surrounding area well. Especially the village of Shirakawa ;-)

Motoyu Ishiya is a 230 year old hotel just outside of the historic city of Kanazawa. The property itself is stunning, the photos do not do this place justice. It is a very spiritual place where you can’t help but feel at peace. The staff are exceptional and accommodate English speakers to the best of their ability. The meals included are very traditional and require an open-mindedness from foreigners. I look forward to returning in the future.

Boasting indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths and a waterside Japanese garden, Matsusaki is a 20-minute drive from JR Matsuto Train Station. The crew was amazing, we felt like royalty our entire stay there! The food was delicious and adapted to our dietary restrictions. The onsen was amazing!
