The location is about a 20 min walk to the central area and about a 30 min walk to the Hida Folk Village so the location isn’t too bad if you’re planning to see both. The staff is beyond excellent, extremely polite, friendly and welcoming. We had the Japanese breakfast which was really delicious. I loved how big our room was, it was all well worth the stay.

Offering a shared lounge and quiet street view, Toraya is set in Gero, 48 km from Takayama Station and 49 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The room is new and clean. great value for the room.

Offering a garden and garden view, Nagataki is located in Nakatsugawa, 13 km from Ōi and 34 km from Japan Taisho Village. The property is allergy-free and is situated 12 km from Enakyo Wonderland. Nagataki is an amazing little sanctuary of preserved traditional Japanese homes. The gardens and small pathways between offer a nice area to meander in any season. The homes are extremely well kept and it truly feels like stepping back in time. The warmth of traditional woodwork and tatami offer an incredible experience. Washrooms are renovated and modern. Public bath is located steps away within the facility. Food was exceptional with myriad of unique local tastes and seasonal twists.

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Shiroyamakan offers accommodation in Shirakawa, 1.4 km from Shirakawago. Free private parking is available on site. The entire property is non-smoking. May the universe bless the family that runs this hotel. They are the best people ever. The dinner was amazing. The breakfast was amazing. The room and the private hot bat were amazing! Situated in a tranquil area in Gifu Region, a 52-minute drive away from JR Takayama Station, Mozumo boasts a hot-spring bath and rooms decorated with modern Japanese interior. Paradise. It embodies Japanese refinement with special attention to the smallest details. The room was beautiful , comfortable and having our own private onsen was a big plus. The staff was outstanding bending over backwards to please. The kaiseki was grand , the food was delicious. The gracious lady who served all our meals went to great length to explain every single ingredient and course.

Founded in 1860, Juhachiro is located along Nagara River and boasts indoor and outdoor natural hot spring baths. The property is a 15-minute bus ride from Gifu Train Station. The staff was amazing and very kind!

Awarded by TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice in 2015, Wanosato offers luxurious Japanese-style ryokan stay in a 160-year-old quaint Gassho-zukuri thatched-roof house, nestled in the tranquil woods. Wanosato was a lovely place to stay! The staff, especially the manager, were so friendly, attentive and efficient. The attention to detail was incredible, from the personalized slippers to my luggage mysteriously appearing in my room and to the set up of my private onsen time. The food was delicious and a truly authentic Japanese dining experience. I highly recommend Wanosato to anyone who wants a peace ryokan experience surrounded by nature.

Sumiyoshi Ryokan ligger bare 1 minutts gange fra det populære morgenmarkedet Miyagawa i hjertet av Takayama, og tilbyr hjemmekoselig overnatting i japansk stil i en historisk byvilla. The owners are so friendly and put so much effort into making your stay a great one. Breakfast and dinner were both fabulous and the onsen as well. It’s also in a great location and you can walk everywhere. Highly recommend!
