Situated 1.5 km from Takayama Station, Iroriyado Hidaya is a recently renovated 4-star accommodation in Takayama, boasting a garden, a shared lounge and private parking. Kindness of the personnel and service. Cleanliness. Typical japanese house and commodities. Futon used to sleep but very comfortable. We were proposed to be driven to the station since no taxi was available because of the festival period.

Located in a gorgeous forest with excellent hot springs. Having the personal bath was my favorite thing. The staff were very helpful and kind.

Founded in 1860, Juhachiro is located along Nagara River and boasts indoor and outdoor natural hot spring baths. The property is a 15-minute bus ride from Gifu Train Station. The staff was amazing and very kind!

Most magical place. Never stayed anywhere like it with such an incredible view of the river. Felt like a dream. Food and service were remarkable

Offering traditional Japanese-style accommodation with spacious public baths, Yatsusankan is a 6-minute walk from JR Hidafurukawa Train Station. Great location (few minutes walk from the station). Super friendly, polite and helpful staff (spoke English well and found other means of translating if something wasn’t clear). The building is a beautiful old Ryokan, which met all expectations and ideas of what a proper original ryokan would look like. We even got to try the private onsen (remember to book it in time!) and enjoyed time in the relaxation room. The food experience was just amazing!! We had the Japanese breakfast both mornings and for dinner we had the kaiseki the first night and shabu shabu the second night. The room was also big and beautiful, clean and when we came back from dinner our futon beds had been made. The whole stay from the entering the establishment to our check out will be a memory and experience we will not forget!

Located just a 1-minute walk from popular Miyagawa Morning Market in the heart of Takayama, Sumiyoshi Ryokan offers homely Japanese-style accommodation in the historic townhouse building. It was absolutely like a dream! It is the closest you can get to staying with a local family. The hosts were incredible and lovely and took care of us and it honestly felt like coming home to visit family. It was in a beautiful location and every room of the property was spectacular, clean and incredible to be in. Massive thank you to our hosts for the incredible stay, we loved it.
