We chose The Outpost Lodge for an impromptu 30th anniversary getaway. We have always wanted to visit the northernmost part of the Kruger to see how it compares to the rest of the park. The Outpost is situated on a hill overlooking the Luvuvhu River and the view from our room was breath-taking. The contemporary open plan rooms have retractable remote-controlled blinds, that offer uninterrupted views of the river when open. It was indeed a once-in-a-lifetime experience to sleep with no walls between you and the wilderness. On the second night, we were treated to elephants trumpeting just outside our room! The lodge is situated in a private concession. The staff mainly consists of members of the Makuleke tribe. We were treated like royalty and no effort was spared to make our stay a memorable one. It is evident that the staff are extremely well trained, but also that they love what they do. Our room was immaculately clean, the food was 5-star and wherever we went, we were greeted with friendly smiles. The fauna, flora and vistas in this part of the Kruger is by far the most impressive of the whole park. We were fortunate enough to visit both the Lanner Gorge and the Fever Forest on game drives. This is not the area of the Kruger you should go to if you want to see the big five, as you probably won’t, but that said, there is still a decent amount of wildlife to see. We saw elephant, zebra, nyala, impala, baboons, kudu and hippo.

We are travel a lot in good hotels but this is right at the top. We food is delicious, the safaris are very exciting and you learn a lot about afrikas animals, flowers, trees and the culture. Mostly you see a much bigger variation of animals, compared the the Great Kruger. We also had the chance to do a walking safari and we saw also cheetah nearby and we were absolutely safe. The staffs helps you with brilliance if you have any questions or wishes. Very often there are several animals across the river, you can wach from the pool. For example giraffe, monkey, elefant, impala. You feel very safe here, cause the staff also walks you to the room in the dark. No doubt that we will come back to this beautiful place. Thank you for the time here, especially to John and Natalie.

Everything!!! The place is just amazing with beautiful views and great stuff. it is a bit secluded which can lead to one getting lost but trust me once you get to the destination you forget all about that because of how beautiful the place is. Godfrey is such an amazing hostess, he was calling us all the way trying to ensure that we rich our destination safely. We even made fun about gravel road that we got lost to and I how stubborn I was when He told me to use another route. The receptionist was also phenomenal, he prepared us our take away breakfast as we were needed to be out very early for our adventure. The place is suitable for people who just want to relax and enjoy each others company and that is exactly what we did as there are no TV's in the bed room and also the network is not that strong.

This is an amazing place. The staff is awesome and there is lots to do here. We had a wonderful stay with hikes, relaxing and good food. The location is perfect, and if one of your days turns into a rainy day, no worries as there is plenty to do at the resort. I highly recommend this place for everyone who like to experience one of the many amazing facets of South-Africa.
