Not only was the hotel itself simple and perfect, but Luan set up the amazing experience to come. Luan personally took us on our own boating and hiking tour in which we got to see the most beautiful views. He also welcomed us into the local Vietnamese culture by inviting us to a local wedding and introducing us to his friends and family. We felt at home and so incredibly grateful to be welcomed with such open arms. Luan truly creates an unforgettable and unimaginably wonderful experience. Luan and his hotel deserve all the business he could ever want and more.

The location is good with easy access the lake (30 seconds), and to the boats that take you to the waterfals, villages to walk through and caves to explore. The staff was especially welcoming. The manager, Nam, was over and above helpful, very informative, and did everything to make the stay enjoyable and the food great (thanks to the cooks and helpers). Meals served in an open garden and comfortable covered outside lounge areas with Wifi access. Even got to meet Mr. Linh himself, a gregarious and very friendly individual. The bungalow type accommodation is great for backpackers and those on a lower budget, clean with shared bath, but basic. For a little extra I'd go for the the rooms with ensuite. They are very comfortable. If you're keen, kayaks are free to use for an hour or so and I'd recommend a paddle around. Overall a great place to spend a few days in the Ba Be National Park area right on the lake.

We visited in low season, and were the only guests in the entire hotel. The owner prepared us a rice/chicken/ vegeteable meal which was OK.

The staff were extremely accommodating, going out of there way to help me find a motorbike repair shop and bargaining on my behalf. Organised transport for us. The staff was fantastic, excellent conversations. Even gave us a traditional rice cake when leaving.

Hôtes très sympathiques qui nous on ramené en scooter jusqu'à notre van car ce dernier ne passait pas sur le pont. Leur oncle a un bateau et nous a fait faire une balade sur le lac. Le homestay est bien situé.

When we arrived at the hotel, door was locked, phone was disconnected. we have to drive to Thai Nguyen , 73 km away for another hotel. Later Phuong Nam hotel sent me an email : “Sorry we were out of town for the Vietnamese New Year “. I sent an email to Booking.com costumer services to complain, but no reply from Booking.com yet .
