Our hosts , Mario and Julia went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. They took the time to share with us the customs of their community. They happily gave us a tour of the island. Mario was kind enough to pick us up at our boat and Julia escorted us to our boat when we left. Clean, comfortable and rustic. Excellent location. Mario and Julia are truly lovely people and was our pleasure to have met them.

Located 4 blocks from the main square, Taquile Familia Celso offers accommodations in Quinuapata. A complimentary breakfast is served daily. Rooms here are fitted with shared bathroom facilities. - The family was extremely friendly and helpful. - The food was delicious and everything was very clean. - The host picked us up at the port.

Edwin was super helpful and caring so I could arrive the accomodation without any problem. Views were astonishing and the peace was out of this world. Food was nice too. They gave me a better room than the one I booked because they had it free for that night.

Richar, Lucrezia and Isabella are very lovely people and very generous hosts. Richar told us about the island and showed us around, Lucrezia’s cooking is truly wonderful and Isabella is a very nice girl, who would play cards with us in the evening. The rooms are very clean, there is a hot shower and it’s an easy walk from the port of Amantani. The island itself is so peaceful and tranquil, a perfect rest. At night the stars are magestic with Milky Way visible with naked eye. I would highly recommend staying at Richar’s place to experience the magic of the island in its authenticity. Also, from what I’ve read it is much better for the families who live on the island to book a stay directly with them rather than through an agency.

Inca lodge - Amantani is located 37 km from Puno Port in Amantani island. Featuring a restaurant, the property also has a terrace. Every room includes a balcony. Staying with Justa and Adolfo is one of the highlights of our trip to Peru. Contact with a family cannot be more interesting!

Oliver, Sebastiana and their children are a lovely family who you instantly feel at home with. The room we had was spacious, private and had a beautiful view of the lake. Hot water and WiFi worked amazingly for the area and the food provided (for an extra cost, but really good value), was very tasty and varied. There are a few walks to do in the area to keep you busy, and Oliver can also take you out on his boat to some of the local islands and to see the trout farm he runs (again, for an extra fee but for what you get, we thought it was really good value for money. You have to remember you have the boat completely to yourselves and there were no other tourists on the floating island we visited, making the experience very authentic). There's a really nice outdoor seating to enjoy the sun and view. Getting there is also very easy with collectivos going regularly from Puno and Juliaca for next to nothing. Nothing could have been better. Thank you Oliver, Sebastiana, Diana and little Adele.
