Van der Valk Hotel Hoorn is located next to motorway A7 and offers accommodations with free WiFi. Alkmaar is 24 km away. It's a 4-star hotel, but it's actually 5-star luxury. It's part of a larger complex that includes a casino, a restaurant, and probably other facilities that I didn't visit. The room is super clean, quite spacious, and very quiet with a great view on a wide green area. The bathroom was very nice, with a shower and a bath tub. My baby enjoyed her private swimming pool immensely! The location is just off the highway so it's very easy to reach. I also took the car for a 6m drive to a Halal restaurant, so the city is just a few minutes of driving. The Wi-Fi was open, no password needed. This is really convenient. The breakfast was superb. Very spacious restaurant and enough variety to satisfy all tastes. It's also available till 10:30, which is unusual (usually till 9:30 or 10:00 in most hotels I've been to). All in all, I'm definitely coming back in case I come back to Hoorn.

The hotel staff were lovely: very helpful, friendly and attentive to our needs. It is a pleasure to meet people so close and kind. The food and the breakfast are delicious and very varied. The spectacular leisure offer: swimming pool, private and shared jacuzzi in the pool, bowling alley, billiards ... we will repeat without a doubt!

Less than 20 kilometres from Amsterdam, you will find our cosy three-star hotel in the old centre of the picturesque Zuiderzee town of Edam. The owner is constantly after every detail. Breakfast was great. Plenty of options to choose from. The location is beautiful, by the canals at Edam. This is the second time I come to this hotel, and it is still as good as I recalled. Will certainly come back.
