Hotel Lara's Planet biedt huisdiervriendelijke accommodatie in El Castillo de La Concepción. We loved this hotel. Natasha was an angel.Her staff were friendly and helpful. Her rooms were huge, airy, clean, and comfortable. The balcony was a great place for watching the sunset. Breakfast consisted of lots of fruit, eggs, toast, and delicious rice pancakes. Natasha went out of her way to help organize our journey back to Leon. ❤️

Guacimo Lodge is gevestigd in een bosrijk bos van 40 hectare, dicht bij El Castillo en het biosfeerreservaat Indio Maiz. We had an excellent stay in Guacimo. The place itself is beautiful and the facilities were excellent, however it was the staff and excursions that made the trip so special. Manuel had been so helpful corresponding with us before the stay about the logistics of arriving at Guacimo. Our boat from San Carlos was full by the time we arrived and so Guacimo helped by sending their boat to collect us, without which we'd have been stuck for the night in San Carlos. They helped us arrange to see everything that we wanted to whilst there and gave us some great advice on where to go in Nicaragua after our stay at Guacimo. Gustavo was a brilliant guide and taught us so much about the local history & wildlife. Franklin was there to help with any and all queries we had and was great with helping us arrange our onward journey and Margarita cooked us the most wonderful food!

Hostal Don Frank heeft gratis WiFi in de hele accommodatie en biedt uitzicht op de stad in San Carlos. Naast een excursiebalie beschikt over deze accommodatie ook een casino. We stayed for two nights, once after arriving on the bus from Managua and then again when returning on the boat from El Castillo. It is in the perfect location for the bus terminal and boat port (2 minute walk). The rooms are basic but clean. Great value for money.

A lovely old house, clean, comfortable and on a quiet street close to the centre for the bus and boats. The owners are extremely kind people, I needed to change my dates twice due to a chane of plans and then unforseen circumstances and they were very generous and understanding. I booked and stayed here both times I was in San Carlos. Overall, fantastic value and would absolutely recommend a stay here!

Het hotel is fantastisch gelegen, vlakbij de lagune. Het heeft een ongelofelijk mooie tuin waar je ook vogels kunt spotten. We hebben via het hotel een boottocht geboekt in de lagune. We kregen héél wat vogels, kaaimannen .... te zien. De maaltijden kun je nemen in een mooie overdekte ruimte.

Great location close to the river and easy to explore the area.The bird life is exceptional and the guides very knowledgeable. Staff and owners were very friendly and helpful. The menu was varied and the meals delicious.

Poponjoche Lodge Caño Negro ligt in Caño Negro, op 46 km van waterval Rio Celeste, en biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi, airconditioning en toegang tot een tuin met een terras. Great accommodation in Cano Negro. Family who run it is really nice and helpful, there were no problem with anything. The accommodation is really nice, it sits in a large garden which is connected to small lagoon. It is clean, has coffee maker (which is important for me:). Next to the Poponjoche is restaurante Fogon, which has the best meal I ate during our month in Costa Rica. We are birdwatchers so wanted to take the tour on lagoons. We did our search in the village and than decided to take son of owner of Poponjoche as guide since he can speak english. His father who is good bird guide went also with us. We were happy we choose them. Beware, there is NO BUS from Cano Negro to Upala or Los Chiles on Sunday!!! And taxi can get really expensive on this day.
