Hospedaje Wotoch Aayin has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and restaurant in Venecia. There is a children's playground and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. It was with mild intrepidation we took the route from the north (which can be a little narrow and bumpy at parts), though we comfortably managed in a 7 seater suv. What welcomed us was a welcoming family and charming fishing village tucked away in the Yucatan peninsula. We saw the true passion that Sergio and Rossana gave to maintaining the crocodile population in and around the region. We were so happy to spend a couple of days here and try the lovely fish and empanadas that they have to offer. Thank you both for such a lovely welcome! 🙏🏼 PS. The route to the village has plenty of flamingos and other birds to see, keep an eye out when you're on the sing-lane road with water and hedges on both sides.

The room is very roomy :), clean and pretty much soundproof (you could not hear the traffic or the other guests). The hotel has parking, and I read in some other reviews that it was hard to drive in, but to be honest, it was not, I am not a great driver, but if you have some complications driving into your spot, there is a guy that can help you, so no problems there.

Campeche was a surprise! We enjoyed just walking around the city. The museums were great and had some of the information translated into English. We enjoyed walking on the walls of the old city and eating on the pedestrian street. It is definitely a bonus to stay close to the centre.
Campeche is a very interesting walled city. Really easy to walk in. The best part is that it shows so much Mexican pride! I love that they don't try to westernize the town in any way. It is amazing Mexico and that's why we're here.
We did not know that Campeche had such a rich colonial history complete with pirates, wars, sieges and invasions not to mention great wealth. The downtown is completely walkable and is a UNESCO world heritage site. We bused through Campeche 8 years ago and did not realize that there was a historic part of the city. Folks just referrred to it as a seaport. What a pleasant surprise. We took day trips out to visit numerous Mayan archaeological sites. At the main plaza where we stayed, there is very little street food. You have to walk out of the walled city to the market, though there are numerous hole-in-the-wall Mom and Pop places selling good economical Mexican food.
Lovely sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico. City centre compact enough to navigate. The bastions help give a feel for what it was like in the days when pirates roamed the seas and cities had to protect themselves. I originally only cane to campeche to break up the otherwise arduous trip from merida to palenque, but I'm really glad I did.
The inner wall is great. If you travel by car use a good map-- the streets are narrow and parking your car will be a problem. There are many stores and restaurants to check out . Campeche is basically a working town except for the Inner city which is fun to explore and clean and where to dream about the old days. The wall is great along with the Melecon which is beautiful. There is no beach to swim. The light show and play in the evening at the wall entrance is weak in presentation. The jade face mask found at Calakmul along with other artifacts is located in the walled museum as you go to the Melecon. Check out the police cars!
We enjoyed an excellent concert in the main square -- 9 guitars.. beautiful harmony! -- that was our highlight (""The Romance of Campeche). It was extremely hot while we were there (end of March 2017). Campeche restaurants have strict rules about when they can serve cerveza (beer), ie. not before 1 pm. The convenience stores (Oxxo) do not sell beer ... although it is sold at every other outlet we visited in Mexico over 2 months. Wine was not available at any store we could find in Campeche. The restaurant where we had dinner was excellent, but choice of restaurants was limited. We thought we could walk a long distance on the wall, but most of it was destroyed many centuries ago, so we could only walk short distances at a time. We enjoyed our morning walk on the Melancon (a walkway along the seafront) ... but as far as we could tell, Campeche, a very beautiful city, lacked other tourist opportunities. We actually left earlier than we planned on the second day of our trip..
Campeche is tranquil ans safe . People are curtius and very helpful.. Many historical and archoological site to visit.. Excellent restaurants and food. The Malecon is about 7km long. For a short stay a guided touri is recommended
A small town consisting of a quite ancient walled city with a more bustling city on the outside. The walled city is full of history and interest with a marvelous central plaza where something musical occurs most evenings. Plenty of good restaurants all at ridiculously low prices, loads of culture and small shops. The area is not a "tourist trap", here you will feel part of the Mexican/Mayan culture which they are all so proud of. If you want Disneyland, you know where to go, Campeche is quiet, subtle, delightful, full of culture, safe, low cost and with wonderful people. There is a waterfront, but no beach. The beach is a bus ride away. The Mayan site of Edzna is also nearby and well worth a visit.
The only reason I can see to visit is to be close to the Mayan archaeology of Calakmul, 30 mins away. We traveled from Merida a good 7 hour drive so had to stay 2 nites. I would suggest if you are returning to say Campeche or Merida to stay as close to Calakmul as possible the other side of the reservation so to have less driving back.
We toured Mexico for 5 weeks. I loved (almost) every minute, but it was Campeche that really stole my heart! Steeped in history, this wonderfully preserved/restored colonial town is a must for any visitor to the Yucatan. Echoes of a rowdy buccaneering history are still alive, but the place is right ‘here and now’ when it comes to excellent food, exquisite service and fabulous cocktails! Stay in the historical centre. Eat at La Parilla. Hire a bicycle. Visit the Fuerte of San Miguel.
this was a very pleasant hotel about 3 mins walk from the cathedral square in Campeche and about 10 mins walk from the Sur bus station (for eg bus to Uxmal). The staff were delightful. There is a courtyard that you can sit in and the fruit and toast with juice and coffee for breakfast is served in a charming front room. it's nicely decorated, rooms have space for suitcases etc, and is good value and nothing in campeche is far from anything else (apart from the archaeological museum you need to get a taxi to).
This is a stunning hotel, a beautiful old building with all its original features intact. It's ideally situated for exploring the old parts of Campeche, and a couple of minutes from the seafront. The rooms are huge and have splendid doorways and traditional furniture. There are no internal windows, yet, oddly, this doesn't seem to matter and if you wish you can open the top half of your door onto the splendid courtyard. If you want authentic Spanish-influenced Mexico, this is it.
We booked Hotel Plaza Colonial, but after the booking we were told that the Hotel is closed and instead we would become a room in the Hotel Campeche (next to it). Hotel Campeche was really nice, felt like an upgrade. The room was good, with a nice view and sunlight. Good working air condition and small but nice pool. Very good location to explore the city, staff was always helpful. One if the beste showeres i had in Mexico (pressure and heat control).
Campeche
Jorge was super responsive and provided great local recommendation. The property is located about a block away from the market and the entrance into the old city area which was awesome. The room was good size, the bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, and the internet was pretty good speed for Mexico standards. The shared kitchen had the essentials if you wanted to prepare a meal. This is great budget location in Campeche for a few days or longer.
Great accommodation! We loved the set-up of this hotel. We had 3 rooms and these were all comfortable. But best was the common area and kitchen that we could use. As we were traveling with 2 families, this was an excellent set-up. We could prepare lunch and breakfast (and dinner if we would have liked). Also on walking distance to the center of Campeche. All in all a fantastic stay in this hotel.
Campeche
This boutique hotel in Campeche is truly a gem! Nested in one of its traditional neighborhoods, the hotel is comfortable, clean, well-decorated and the management is great! Todd and Jeanne made my stay flawless. Downtown and malecón just a few blocks by foot. Breakfast is included and Jeanne’s overnight oats are to die for. I will definitely return to this hotel when I’m back in Campeche!
This is absolutely the best apartment/casa in the Yucatán. The owners have thought of everything including a lovely, quiet patio at the back with lovely fruit trees. The bed and sofas are comfortable to include two rocking chairs, a nice touch. WhatsApp response was very good, and they took care of my questions right away. If you are staying in Campeche, you should stay here.
A beautiful boutique hotel, centrally located on a quiet street just a short walk from restaurants and shops. The malecon and old city walls are also just a short walk away. Campeche is a beautiful city and El Navegante makes it accessible.. The room was spacious and very comfortable with a small balcony over the street, and front desk staff were always available and helpful.
This was a great find, it's difficult to find a good value hotel in Campeche that doesn't have drawbacks so a flat was a sensible option for us. This flat was recently refurbished to a good standard. There was plenty of space for the three of us. Good kitchen and bathroom (plus a TV that we didn't use). . The location is convenient and gated parking is available.
Hotel was in excellent location a 5-minute walk from the center. Onsite parking was extremely helpful for our rental car. The facility is clean and well-maintained, if older, and the staff highly attentive. The room was not fancy but perfectly serviceable, had everything we needed, especially for the low cost. A great location for your Campeche stay!
Loved everything. This is the best place we’ve stayed in Mexico and one of the best Airbnb style apartments I’ve stayed in. Beautifully designed. Amazing host. Great breakfast provisions which were a bonus. Everything has been considered for a perfect stay. And the location is the best in Campeche
Campeche
Nice rooftop view of the ocean. Very convenient for local restaurants and a short walk along the excellent Malecon into the beautiful old town of Campeche. The owner had put in a lot of care in making the place welcoming for us. Full kitchen, coffee provided. Cute stop for a couple of nights.
Great location in the walled city of Campeche, easy walk to the historical sites within the walls. Staff was helpful. Room was spacious, included breakfast was good I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay within the historical walls of the beautiful old city of Campeche.
Really stylish, comfortable, beautifully furnished apartment in the centre of historic Campeche. Our host Sebastien and his wife have impeccable taste and have several rental properties in the town. Also have a look at https://www.casajapa.com/ for bigger parties. Incredible!
Hotel Maculís is a lovely boutique hotel in Campeche. Rooms are great. We had a two-floor room which was super. Staff is very nice. Pool is small but refreshing and there is even a kitchen. Old center is 5 minutes on foot. I can warmly recommend this place for visits to Campeche.
Campeche
Nice little hostel in the center of Campeche. Close to the sea and to Campeche's main attractions. Friendly staff, although very quiet. comfy beds, clean bathrooms (beware of mosquitos), good kitchen with very fast heating stoves. efficient air con. quiet area.
This is a beautiful apartment in the heart of Campeche. It was so refined and comfortable, and a fabulous breakfast was provided for us. Despite there being a nightclub next door the sounds proofing was great and it was hard to hear it in the bedroom.
Campeche
Best place to stay in Campeche! I tried three different hostels and this was definitely best for value! Small courtyards where you can relax, nice kitchen and really nice rooms Also the guy who checked me in was so nice and friendly
this apartment is so beautiful, Campeche is a lovely town to visit and Sebastian could not have been a more helpful host. we would really recommend a visit and staying in one of Sebastian’s properties they are all beautiful
Hotel Rath is perfectly located in centro Campeche. Near to the main restaurants area and touristy spots without being noisy. The staff parking and luggage specially were absolutely kind and helpful. Good vibes.
