We had an excellent stay at The Cubes - the staff were so hospitable and kind. The room was fantastic with a modern design and ample space and all you could need. The breakfast was amazing, we were so happy to have a mix of western and Sri Lankan. The property is secluded and away from the busyness of the city centre which is reachable by tuk tuk or car.

The view from the balcony is amazing. It is lovely to watch all the action down below on the 9 arches bridge. It is a little remote but there is a great little cafe run by the same family just below the cabin for some food and drinks, if you don't want to go into town for dinner. Also the owner is extremely helpful, thoughtful and he will pick you up from the train take you into town and pick you up anytime. He is lovely and as a solo traveller, it felt completely safe there. Also I had an early pick up for a tour at 5.15am and the owner made sure that I rearranged an alternative pick up point because cars cannot access the cabin, only tuk tuks. He then took me at 5.00am to the meet up point in his tuku tuk and also packed me a breakfast. At the end of my stay he arranged for a car to take me to Mirissa for a good price. On my second day I was there for breakfast and it was fantastic. I totally recommend this cabin if you want to stay out of Ella town and have an incredible view of nature and the bridge.

We were super surprised at how big the room was, especially since we paid so little! The balcony was also a lovely addition. Big big big bonus points for the king size bed - loved it. The staff were extremely kind and they offer a tuk tuk service to bring you to and from Ella city center. Also, right on top of the hotel (literally 2’ uphill walk) is the 3arch bridge - the least famous sibling to the 9 arch one. We were lucky enough to see trains passing there and it was wonderful! We can only recommend! Thanks again.

The view was fantastic. So beautiful and serene. You would occasionally see the train go by. Train station just downstairs so very conveniently located. Dave was an amazing host. Breakfast was custom made every morning, with a lot of love and attention. I absolutely loved staying at this hotel and I would love to go back for a longer period.

Truly the staff is the highlight of this beautiful property. The restaurant service, the housekeeping, everyone is lovely and top notch. I love the room, this is the 5th or more time I've stayed here over the years and it keeps its quality, the rooms are beautiful, the views are absolutely incredible and again, the staff is the best!

most romantic place during our trip! if you have the time and courage DO NOT MISS this place. you will understand in the morning. little bit difficult to get there but not impossible. we got there by car, durign a nasty rain, so the car did not make the last 750 meters, we had to walk, getting soaked. in the morning we went down to ohiya on foot,it was a nice walk.

The staff were very helpful, specially Chandra she was so friendly and a great help during our stay. Highly recommend it as it’s close to everything, 9 Arches Bridge and Ravana Pool Club and Ella Town.

I can't tell you how impressed I am at the kindness of the staff here. Truly just amazing people. From arrival to departure they were always attentive, making sure I had everything needed. I left some flippers behind and without saying anything, someone raced to bring them to me at the train station. I couldn't believe it - this team really cares! The view of the valley waking up also really made my day. Was so so happy here and delighted with my choice!

Everything was perfect. Personel was fantastic, very helpful and kind and polite. Generally people from Sri Lanka are great people. Rooms are amazing. The hotel is totally in the city center; around a lot of restaurants and shops. We arrived very late but personel was waiting for us with the dinner; they were just amazing. Breakfast was fantastic. Next time for sure I will choose the same hotel !!!
