El Hotelito Perdido er lítið frumskógar athvarf staðsett miðsvæðis í Rio Dulce-þjóðgarðinum. This hotel is amazing. We stayed in a hut in the middle of the jungle. The hut itself was thoughtfully designed with rare tropical wood like mahogany. It was beautiful, comfortable, quiet and the surroundings were magical. Tim and his team are the most wonderful hosts. The food is healthy and delicious. This place is a hidden gem.

Hotel Posada Stella Maris er staðsett í Puerto Barrios og býður upp á 5 stjörnu gistirými með garði og sameiginlegri setustofu. Gististaðurinn býður upp á alhliða móttökuþjónustu og barnaleikvöll. There is big enough and clean room with nice moutain views balcony. Also there is shared kitchen can be used. Very warm and helpful host. It is located Santo Tomas de castile, easy to take a taxi ( 30 GTQ ) or chicken bus( 3GTQ) from puerto Barrios center. Recommend to take couple days to chill out. There is walkable to beach and waterfall. The accommodation fee all goes to charity.

Reserva Natural Cañón Seacacar er staðsett í Izabal, 45 km frá Castillo de San Felipe de Lara og býður upp á gistirými með garði, ókeypis einkabílastæði, verönd og veitingastað. Perfect place hidden in a small village. It’s the only accommodation in the village and has been build to help the local community. The first language in the village is Q’eqchi, the children are now learning Spanish in school from about age 5. The staff of the hotel is from the village and for them it is a place to learn and work in tourism. They are all very friendly and helpful. If you want to have a great Guatemalan experience in one of the most beautiful places of Guatemala, where the crowds don’t go (yet), this is where you want to go! I reached the hotel by a two hour trail that is insanely beautiful, constructed by the people of the village, easy to follow and a good climb to two wooden miradors with lake and jungle views. Always with the sound of absolutely fantastic river ‘sauce’ on the background. The next day I went down on a tube and they carried my bag down. The tubing in the river is what will drop your yaws!! Absolutely beautiful, a cañón with high Walls on both sides. Everything is well organized and clean. It absolutely worth a visit! I’m writing this review because I could not believe that I was the only tourist there (on a Saturday)! You will not regret your visit and you will probably (hopefully) write a similar review to help this village and the people creating a better future for there town. There are several projects ongoing, including deforestation! Go and enjoy jungle, river and peace while enjoying great food and comfortable accommodation(affordable too!)

Hotel Gran Costa Azul er staðsett í Puerto Santo Tomás de Castilla og býður upp á líkamsræktarstöð, garð, sameiginlega setustofu og verönd. We stopped here for one night on a very long road trip and it proved perfectly adequate for our purposes. Everything was comfortable and functioning. There was secure parking, which was important to us. There is a restaurant attached to it with a good range of items. Breakfast was good.

Livingston Resort Hotel er með garð, verönd, veitingastað og bar í Lívingston. The pool was amazing and has heating, allowing you to enjoy it even late at night. The food was amazing, I tried all of the pasta places in town and none came close to match theirs.

Really nice place with nice staff and food! We got an upgrade because it is low season. That was really nice. The location was great and easy to reach

The little cabañas are very nice and comfortable! All the staff is helpful and caring. Karina helped us a lot while we were trying to plan our next steps…100% recommended 😌

Good location on the water, places to seat and hammocks. The place got a restaurant with a lot of options. Also you can rent boards / kayaks and book tours / shuttles.

Hotel El Reformador er staðsett í Puerto Barrios og býður upp á garð, verönd, veitingastað og bar. Þetta 4 stjörnu hótel býður upp á ókeypis WiFi, herbergisþjónustu og sólarhringsmóttöku. Breakfast was excellent. We were all super excited about the pillows not being flat like our previous location. Great stay for a quick trip.
