El Hotelito Perdido is a little jungle hideaway located in a middle of Rio Dulce National Park. This hotel is amazing. We stayed in a hut in the middle of the jungle. The hut itself was thoughtfully designed with rare tropical wood like mahogany. It was beautiful, comfortable, quiet and the surroundings were magical. Tim and his team are the most wonderful hosts. The food is healthy and delicious. This place is a hidden gem.

Set in Puerto Barrios, Hotel Posada Stella Maris offers 5-star accommodation with a garden and a shared lounge. There is big enough and clean room with nice moutain views balcony. Also there is shared kitchen can be used. Very warm and helpful host. It is located Santo Tomas de castile, easy to take a taxi ( 30 GTQ ) or chicken bus( 3GTQ) from puerto Barrios center. Recommend to take couple days to chill out. There is walkable to beach and waterfall. The accommodation fee all goes to charity.

Set in Izabal, 45 km from Castillo de San Felipe de Lara, Reserva Natural Cañón Seacacar offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Perfect place hidden in a small village. It’s the only accommodation in the village and has been build to help the local community. The first language in the village is Q’eqchi, the children are now learning Spanish in school from about age 5. The staff of the hotel is from the village and for them it is a place to learn and work in tourism. They are all very friendly and helpful. If you want to have a great Guatemalan experience in one of the most beautiful places of Guatemala, where the crowds don’t go (yet), this is where you want to go! I reached the hotel by a two hour trail that is insanely beautiful, constructed by the people of the village, easy to follow and a good climb to two wooden miradors with lake and jungle views. Always with the sound of absolutely fantastic river ‘sauce’ on the background. The next day I went down on a tube and they carried my bag down. The tubing in the river is what will drop your yaws!! Absolutely beautiful, a cañón with high Walls on both sides. Everything is well organized and clean. It absolutely worth a visit! I’m writing this review because I could not believe that I was the only tourist there (on a Saturday)! You will not regret your visit and you will probably (hopefully) write a similar review to help this village and the people creating a better future for there town. There are several projects ongoing, including deforestation! Go and enjoy jungle, river and peace while enjoying great food and comfortable accommodation(affordable too!)

Hotel Gran Costa Azul features a fitness centre, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Puerto Santo Tomás de Castilla. We stopped here for one night on a very long road trip and it proved perfectly adequate for our purposes. Everything was comfortable and functioning. There was secure parking, which was important to us. There is a restaurant attached to it with a good range of items. Breakfast was good.

Desde el dormitori por veure l'alba, la ubicació és genial queda una mica apartat del centre però les barques desde Rio Dulce et deixen al moll de l'hotel i si vols anar a Punta Gorda el mateix hotel et reserva la barca que et passa a buscar pel mateix hotel, més cómode impossible.
