Vi bodde väldigt centralt på katedralområdet nära till gamla Canterbury. Där finns många fina restauranger med god mat. Det finns ett mycket välutvecklat allmänt bussnät som man kan för en billig penning (6 pund) åka en hel dag i hela Kent T ex till trevliga små orter vid havet eller Dover m fl.

We stayed in a holiday let, away from Waltham/Hastingleigh. IF the name where the holiday let is located, is Waltham, then it is just a spot in the road. The road which takes you there is a narrow, potholed lane, with room for only one car and all roads around this area, are of that calibre. Our car was serviced before we went there and we suspect that the car is in serious need of repair after our visit, since nothing sounds right anymore. In other words, your car might get ruined on the romantic country lanes around Waltham. Waltham has three buildings. Two are holiday let establishments and one is the old church, belonging to Hastingleigh. This place is not a place to visit but a place to stay when you plan on daily excursions to sites around Kent and Sussex. Thanks to the bad lanes and roads, it takes quite a while to reach places. Hastings and Canterbury are basically an hour away, in reality, because you really can not drive the speed limit.
