Staff were super helpful and friendly. Hotel is fantastic. Our room was great, a/c essential in the heat, amenities excellent, etc. The included breakfast was OUTSTANDING. Wow. Located in Piedades, 42 km from Poas National Park, Canal Grande Lodge provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. Amazing property with a wonderful view of the sunset. We had a large room, everything was very clean, staff very friendly. The food in the restaurant a few steps away was great. Breakfast at the pool was good, too. The lodge is actually even nicer in reality than shown in the photos. We needed about 35min. by car to get to the airport. We would return any time.

Perfect location in the cloud forest. They have a lovely botanical garden and access is included in the stay. The cabin had a lovely view and was very comfortable. The restaurant served excellent local trout.

There is something just magical about Las Cataratas Lodge. The five guest cabins are cozy, private and have wonderful views of the mountains. It is a family-owned business and David (son) and Bernard (father) were welcoming hosts as well as our chefs. Their food is made to order and absolutely delicious! The property has its own hiking trails with a river and two lovely waterfalls. The property is a bit above the village of San Gerado de Dota and we did drive down into the village one day, where most of the other accomodation is - we found we much prefered the location of Las Cataratas Lodge as it is high on the mountain instead of down in the valley so it has much better views.
