The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, breakfast was delicious and varied, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating with all my needs and requests and the free entrance to the hot springs was great as the Volcano Lodge is a nice place to relax.

Flott løsning med «frokost døgnet rundt», som passer perfekt for folk som skal reise med fly. Mange gode restauranter i nærheten, og et trivelig sentrumsområde med mye mere særpreg enn den nærliggende San Jose. Kommer gjerne tilbake hit, og kunne godt tilbragt et par netter ekstra her, som base for å utforske området :)

What a wonderful place! Friendly staff and AMAZING food. We only stayed two nights but wanted to work our way through the whole menu which is extensive (not something vegans are used to!!) The chef, one of the owners, came out to speak with us and was so friendly. She told us of the history of the place and the great work they do here operating a no-kill sanctuary for hundreds of dogs cats and other animals that have been discarded for one reason or another. The rooms were clean and large. The shower decent and the bed very comfortable. The lounge is airy and whilst the furniture may not be to everyone’s taste, it was comfortable. The pool was clean and at a lovely temperature, cool enough to be refreshing but warm enough not to have that oooh moment when getting in! The hotel also helped us with transport both from the airport and onto our next hotel and there were several guests doing a variety of tours/activities.

The hotel has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay: comfortable rooms, amazing pools & hot springs, a nice bar area and a restaurant, and a really nice breakfast. Loved this place. Stunning view to the volcano. The thermal pools are great, they even have one with a bar with views to the volcano and we finished our days there. Loads of animal life, beautiful birds, 1m fluorescent iguanas, squirells… and their zipline was amazing too! Our daughters of 7/9 did tandem with the guides who were so sweet and helpful. Super recommended.

It was an incredible place to stay, and the perfect start of our time in Costa Rica and the La Fortuna Area. I wish we had added one more day, though, just to relax at La Tigra. The setting is BEAUTIFUL, the meals were delicious, and the rooms (imagine glamping) were wonderful.
