Located in Yangshuo, The Bamboo Leaf Yangshuo offers a seasonal outdoor swimming pool. Perfect location away from the tourist areas. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Positioned along Taohua River, Secret Courtyard Resort Hotel boasts a Chinese-style courtyard and is located in Lujia Village, just 2 km from downtown Guilin. Everyone is incredibly warm, welcoming, and friendly. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. The rooms were clean and cozy and the breakfast was delicious. We loved our stay here and highly recommend it for anyone wishing to explore the beautiful city of Guilin!

Featuring free WiFi, a seasonal outdoor pool and a barbecue, The Apsara Lodge offers accommodation in Yangshuo. Guests can enjoy free daily afternoon tea and daily guided riverside bike tour. Extremely friendly staff. Most speak English well enough to communicate. You can even rent E Scooters and bikes there for a very reasonable price. Hotel is located in the rural area and very lovely.

Offering river views and tour tickets for Guilin or Yangshuo, Riverside Inn Guilin is a tranquil hideaway ideally located in the centre of Guilin. The Riverside Inn is close to the main train station (1.1 km away) next to the river and walking path that connects main point of interest to see. The owner gave me grate advice what to see and how to reach different sites. His english is great. Would recommend it :)

Surrounded amidst impressive Karst mountains, Yangshuo Mountain Retreat is located at the edge of Yulong River. Free WiFi access is available. Free parking space is offered. The location and the outside appearance of Yangshuo Mountain Retreat almost impossibly beautiful. It is situated a stone’s throw from the Yulong River in a valley that is one of the most magical places I have ever visited. Near-vertical towering karst terrain spires line the valley on either side and tower directly behind the resort itself. The resort provides free bicycles which are better maintained that those that I have found for free in other hotels and there are free helmets and bicycle locks provided. The bike ride up the valley for a mile or so along a wide brick paved path that runs along the banks of the river offers a parade of vertical peaks on either side of the river(there are more extensive bike routes listed online but these involved sharing the road with busy auto and motor scooter traffic and I,for one, did not think the risk of an orthopedic, or head, injury was worth it). The Yulong river valley is lined with small farms and has so many gorgeous plants(from banana trees to rice ready for harvest and local wild flowers), that I chose to walk it several times to appreciate the fine detail one misses when biking. The exterior of the resort itself is very charming with exuberant blooming bougainvillea lining the path and framing the verandas of each room. The interiors and plumbing are somewhat old fashioned but comfortable and clean and the rooms have a small veranda with chairs and a small table looking out onto a stunning bougainvillea-framed view of the river and mountains. The staff were friendly and went out off their way to be helpful. They welcomed us on our first day with a complimentary pot of ginger tea and a little plate of cookies. The ginger tea was so good we went back three times during our stay for a pot of the same tea. The restaurant was cozy and the chinese dishes were good(we did not try their western menu).

Li River Resort is situated on the west bank of Li River and offers a relaxing retreat in Chinese-style accommodation. Amazing location next to the river and not far from the village. The room was perfect down to the details. The food at the restaurant was one of our best meals in China. Staff were genuinely polite and helpful.

Wedged amongst the bamboo forests and rural farmlands, Riverside Retreat Hotel overlooks the beautiful water of the Li River. The view was wonderful and the staff very professional. He helped me to arrange everything during my 2 days in Yangshou, including taxi arrangement and he also brought me personally with his carfor free, to take the bus to go to Guilin airport. He speaks very well English and he is very kind and smart.

Right opposite Two Rivers and Four Lakes, Guilin Rong Lake Aroma Tea House, formerly Jing Guan Ming Lou Museum Hotel, is located in the city centre. This is a gem of a place to stay. Simple but clean rooms. With its location and all very helpful staff, it's an excellent excellent value for money for Guilin.

Set in Guilin, 1.3 km from Reed Flute Cave, Guilin Village Creek Inn offers accommodation with a fitness centre, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. Melody (at the reception) was really helpful and compensated for our inability to speak to mandarin. She organised all the tours for us and was very patient with us. We were upgraded for free and there is free tap water and breakfast included. The hotel is set in a really nice location which is tranquil, though you will need a bike or DiDi to get into town.
