Food in the pub was fabulous we ate there both nights and there was a great and varied selection on the menu. Room was very comfortable and very clean and toiletries smelt amazing! Around 12 miles from Sheffield, in the heart of the Peak District, The Plough Inn in Hathersage is a 16th-century inn in Derbyshire. It has a cosy bar and restaurant and offers free parking and Wi-Fi.... This hotel was excellent! It's quite expensive, but I stayed here for a backpacking trip around the peak district. The staff was accommodating to what I was here for, they were very excited for me and took great care of everything. The room is as you would expect, the bed was acceptable, pillows are always questionable in hotels, and the bathroom was excellent. I can't justify fully the cost that it was, but in the area, this was the best option due to the price and the fact that the hiking trail started just in front of the pub. Their food was excellent as well, I had lunch after I finished and the staff was as helpful and even asked me how the hike and camping went. If I have hiking trails in the vicinity again I'd stay here for sure.
