I loved the interior of the Guesthouse.Its design is in the details. Koji gave me a lot of information about day trips on Kumano Kodo, also about the good Izakaya in Kii Tanabe. A place that comes with my highest recommendation!

The guesthouses is located in a quiet area of Minabe amidst plum orchards. It is a renovated traditional house of a plum farmer, smells wonderfully of wood and is very peaceful. I had the best stay imaginable here, thanks to the friendly owner, the incredible house and the kind locals living in Minabe.

Okinawa Minshuku Kariyushi offers cosy rooms with free WiFi access just a 4-minute walk from Shirahama Beach. I really felt at home here! Yes, there are minimal amenities, but it has a really cozy feeling to it. My room was quite spacious and very affordable. The staff is very kind and helpful, the manager recommended the best onsen to me, and knew which hot springs were tattoo friendly. He spoke English very well. It is a great location too, only a few minutes walk to the beach, and very close to the convenience store. I'm really happy I stayed here :)
