This is the second time I stayed here and it will remain my go-to hostel in San José. The quality you get for this price is unmatched. The breakfast is good and fresh every day and it is very clean. They've added a co-working space since my last stay. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Couldn't recommend it more.

Ester’s Place is located in an upscale residential neighborhood near the major highway and within 3 blocks of PriceSmart, CIMA Hospital, P.F. Chang, and a big major shopping mall— Escazu Multi-Plaza Mall. There’s a ton of coffee shops, restaurants, and specialty shops.

Hostel Casa Ridgway offers accommodation in San José. Free parking is available on site. The rooms are equipped with a shared bathroom equipped with a shower. This is a very cute hostel and the location is perfect. The staff was really nice. I can recommend it!

Gaudys Hotel is located 8 minutes’ walk from La Sabana Metropolitan Park and 2 km from San José City Centre. Free WiFi access is available in public areas. I really liked this place. It had a handful of nooks and crannies that you could chill in, as well as some comfy hammocks. If you prefer to socialize, there’s some common spaces as well. In general, the place was aesthetically pleasing, as well as functional. I felt safe being here as a solo female traveler. I also liked that the reception was 24/7, especially because I had to check out at 5am.

A great hostel to spend a night or two in San José. Close to most bus terminals, woth a nice social and big common area, several dorms and bathrooms. Breakfast is simple but good, there is free coffee in the morning. The staff is wonderful and helps wherever they can. And their cats are absolutely adorable.

The staff was very friendly and helpful with questions about San José, they even helped me find a way to get to other areas in Costa Rica. The hostel had a nice relaxed vibe and is always clean. There's an outdoor area that is beautiful and surrounded by nature and its great for socializing with everyone. It's in a nice area that is in walking distance from many things like Sodas, the mall, Barrio Escalante, etc. Overall awesome stay

Really nice hostel, lovely staff who were really helpful. They booked me an airport taxi which is handy if you have a late flight. Breakfast was delicious. Hostel was very clean.

In the Wind Hostel and Guesthouse is set in the heart of lively, upscale San Pedro and only 400 meters from the University of Costa Rica and the student nightlife of Calle de la Amargura. Everything.
