The hostel's owner is a decent Japanese man who can speak fluent English. That impressed me most while I get to the first destination of the hiking journey. There is a bar downstairs and hostel rooms are in the second floor. The atmosphere is really good . Also, the hostel is located in the nearby of JR and bus station which provide much convenience in my hiking trip.

Great place! Hongu is a wonderful town. Staff were nice and location next to the Temple was a bonus. Rooms and common facilities were clean. Hostel is well run by a Buddhist monk.

I felt very welcome, and the owner helped me a lot for my trip. I loved the interior of the Guesthouse.Its design is in the details. Koji gave me a lot of information about day trips on Kumano Kodo, also about the good Izakaya in Kii Tanabe. A place that comes with my highest recommendation!

The guesthouses is located in a quiet area of Minabe amidst plum orchards. It is a renovated traditional house of a plum farmer, smells wonderfully of wood and is very peaceful. I had the best stay imaginable here, thanks to the friendly owner, the incredible house and the kind locals living in Minabe.
