We stayed at Pen-Rhos in “Cuckoo’s Nest for four nights in mid January. The scenery surrounding the ‘cabin’ was breathtaking and there was enough space between each cabin for privacy. The space was small, but perfect for two and had every appliance we needed for meals and hot drinks. The bathroom was clean and the shower heated quicker than ours at home. Llandrindod Wells had a few pubs and grocery stores that were close and convenient. Surrounding cities like Newtown, Rhayader, and Builth Wells were great for pub dinners.

Number 22, Castle Street in Hay-on-Wye provides accommodation with free WiFi, 3.6 km from Clifford Castle, a 5-minute walk from Hay Castle and 1.5 km from Clyro Castle. fantastic property in a fantastic location. Host supplied everything necessary for our stay - including croissants for breakfast! The property is a fabulous old (17th century?) house with a small back yard. Watch your head! The town of Hay-on Wye is delightful - full of bookshops, antique shops, lovely places to eat and great walks. 22 Castle Street is right in the middle of the action.

Situated in Llanafan Fawr, 45 km from Aberystwyth, Cwm Chwefru Holiday Cottages features a barbecue and sauna. Brecon is 30 km away. If you are looking for peace and quiet then this is the place, fantastic surroundings and only a short drive to town, decent facilities and beautiful grounds including a lake, very helpful and polite receptionist on site for most of the day, shame we did not stay longer but will return. 😍😍😍😍😚😍😍😍😘😘😘😘
