Located in Horta, within less than 1 km of Praia da Conceição and 2.8 km of Praia de Porto Pim, Estrela do Atlântico provides accommodation with a garden and a bar, and free WiFi. One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in 45 years of travel. Artistic and funky but also warm, friendly and totally unpretentious. The hotel is an old style property, airy and light with big windows and views to the Pico volcano. It is like a gem of an oasis amidst more recent development on the edge of town, but is only ten mins walk down to the big square and port. Breakfast in the spacious dining room is exceptional and the ladies who run the hotel are charming and helpful. We had the extra benefit and unexpected bonus of the Suite, which was like having your own flat with a terrace! There are some trendy restaurant options down the hill with good food - but rather pricey wine, but we found a couple of traditional older places (Medalhas & Lima) that we liked. For whale-watching, Naturalist are a good science-based outfit and if you are short of time or transport they do an excellent half day island tour too - very informative and not touristy. You can do both in one day!

The house is really nice and the view at the Pico mountain is just gorgeous. The host was very kind even though we met just briefly during checkin to follow the social distancing.

Everything was absolutely wonderful! Elena and Jerry really go the extra mile. The house is full or Jerry’s art, which gives it a nice homey touch. You can tell that they love what they are doing. Also if you have any questions about Faial they have the best advise. We tried out all recommended restaurants and coffee shops and they were all good. We would come back any time. Good location, comfortable beds. Supermarket and beach are in walking distance. I used apartment partly for remote working, partly for holidays. Both went well!😀

BELO CAMPO - Ilha do Faial (Horta) in Castelo Branco, Faial Island, provides accommodation with a garden and a shared lounge. The host, José was very kind and friendly. He helped us in everything. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good. Beside that the airport is in front of the apartment it was quiet during the night.

The location of this guesthouse is right center in the city, and it has both a reading lounge, pantry and balcony for those looking to relax or work. The staff were also friendly. We had luck in having the available room at the highest floor, overlooking the marina and Pico. Definitely would return and stay here again.

Featuring a garden and views of sea, Porto Pim Guest House is a recently renovated guest house located in Horta, 1.4 km from Praia de Porto Pim. Very clean sweet renovated home. Everything we needed was there. The bedroom was small with private bathroom and air conditioning , it met our needs . There is the option to sit outside and the shared space is very inviting . It feels like home . I would definitely come back again !
