Külalistemajas on peretoad.... One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in 45 years of travel. Artistic and funky but also warm, friendly and totally unpretentious. The hotel is an old style property, airy and light with big windows and views to the Pico volcano. It is like a gem of an oasis amidst more recent development on the edge of town, but is only ten mins walk down to the big square and port. Breakfast in the spacious dining room is exceptional and the ladies who run the hotel are charming and helpful. We had the extra benefit and unexpected bonus of the Suite, which was like having your own flat with a terrace! There are some trendy restaurant options down the hill with good food - but rather pricey wine, but we found a couple of traditional older places (Medalhas & Lima) that we liked. For whale-watching, Naturalist are a good science-based outfit and if you are short of time or transport they do an excellent half day island tour too - very informative and not touristy. You can do both in one day!

Needless to say the VIEW!!! I couldn’t believe my luck when I entered my very spacious and comfortable room and saw that view from the French door and the terrace! I had the sunrise, the full moon, glorious Pico, the sea, the meadows, the birds, the lights of the port all in one amazing picture right in front of me. The weather was on my side too! I always close all shutters and go for the dark when I sleep, but not at Alice’s house! Impossible to block the view! The room itself was also perfect, comfy bed, two types of pillows (memory/hard and soft), spacious wardrobe and chest of drawers, TV (not essential for me but there is one), excellent shower, very hot water, BIDET! And in the communal living room: extra towels, hair dryers, coffee and tea and biscuits, kettle, mugs, glasses, fridge. Perfect for breakfast (I didn’t use this facility but I appreciated that it was available). You can par on the road (which is on the way to the Caldera, by the way) or in her parking space in front of the house (steep entrance). On arrival I was welcomed by Alice, super nice and super cool! I saw her just on arrival but if I needed anything, she left her number in the room. So lucky to have stayed in her beautiful house! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Everything was really great, but the highlight was the incredible owners who made our stay so lovely. Elena and Jerry had excellent recommendations for us, the hospitality was lovely and overall just great humans. Location was also really great, close to bars, small shops and the Marina

Hiljuti renoveeritud Mar Rosa - Terraço Vista Praia asub Hortas, Praia de Porto Pimist 1,4 km ja Praia da Conceição rannast 2,1 km kaugusel. The property is a house overlooking the beach, the rooms themselves don't have the oceanview per se but have access to a terrace that does. It was clean and the lady who runs it, Alice, is very nice. Location is also very close to the center of town and nice restaurants and right behind a hiking trail along with the whaling/whale oil museum.

Casa de Hóspedes Porto Pim asub Hortas, 1,4 km kaugusel Praia de Porto Pimist ja 2 km kaugusel Praia da Conceição rannast. Külalised saavad väljas istuda ja majutusasutuse territooriumil lõõgastuda. I liked everything in this nice studio appartment. Great location, close to everything and still a quiet area. Has also a balkony with a view.

BELO CAMPO - Ilha do Faial (Horta) asub Castelo Brancos Faiali saarel. Kohapeal on aed ja ühine puhkeruum. Kohapeal on ööpäev läbi avatud vastuvõtt ja tasuta WiFi-ühendus. The host was very helpful, I would say that the people in Azores are amazing, very friendly and helpful! The place is near the airport, perfect common spaces like kitchen. Very nicely decorated house.

Casa da Baía - Guest House pakub majutust Faiali piirkonnas, 42 km kaugusel Pontas Negrasest. Kogu majutusasutuses on tasuta WiFi-ühendus. Olemas on ka televiisor ja kaabeltelevisioon. The location of this guesthouse is right center in the city, and it has both a reading lounge, pantry and balcony for those looking to relax or work. The staff were also friendly. We had luck in having the available room at the highest floor, overlooking the marina and Pico. Definitely would return and stay here again.

Aia ja merevaatega Porto Pim Guest House on hiljuti renoveeritud külalistemaja, mis asub Hortas, 1,4 km kaugusel Praia de Porto Pimist. Very clean sweet renovated home. Everything we needed was there. The bedroom was small with private bathroom and air conditioning , it met our needs . There is the option to sit outside and the shared space is very inviting . It feels like home . I would definitely come back again !
