The guesthouse is situated perfectly in order to have access to the Durham city center, but also feel out of the bustle of the city. The staff consistently went above and beyond to make us comfortable and ensure we enjoyed our stay. I cannot recommend them enough!

I feel I have to mention the very high standard of food. Its not the run of the mill bar food here. Its food fitting of a Manor house. I only wish we had stayed longer to try everything on the menu. All very reasonably priced as well. Real ale behind the bar and an open log fire. Large selection of drinks and food all day and the breakfast was spot on. Whether you are looking for a place to stay or after a meal with a proper local feel then you won't be let down if you give the Manor House a try. Well worth a visit.

The breakfast was superb with locally sourced butcher’s bacon and sausage far superior to the supermarket fare I’ve been served in cafes. Breakfast was prepared with attention to aesthetic appearance as well as delicious taste. The room and bathroom were thoughtfully supplied with everything one could need from face cloth to a luxurious bathrobe with thick, plush towels and bedding, good heating, and more amenities in between.
