Amazing stay! Perfect location just outside the city walls, with a garden overlooking the countryside. The historic home is like a museum, with antiques that, like the house, have been in the family for generations. At check-in we were welcomed with homemade cherry liquor, at breakfast we felt like honored guests. We had not made a dinner reservation in advance and the restaurants nearby were full, but we had a lovely romantic night with take-out in the garden, where the host keeps an area stocked with supplies for a picnic including a nice and affordable bottle of wine. The peace of a walk on the city walls after the tour buses had left was very special.

The hosts were very kind and helpful. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The property was very quiet and comfortable. There is a restaurant in the front of the building. The kitchen area is big and comes with all the accessories to cook.

Lovely quirky place in a quiet little village. Joao was an excellent host who obviously is a very talented artist and couldn't be more helpful. All amenities anyone could wish for and such a lovely touch to have some local cherry licquer and homemade biscuits as a welcome gift. We could easily have spent another few nights here.

The hosts are very nice and welcoming. The breakfast was varied and tasty. The terrace is just beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable. There was good airconditioning, a nice shower and a closet. Every morning at breakfast we got asked if we needed anything, like extra towels or toiletpaper. Just a really nice place!

It was IMPECCABLY clean in our rooms. Down the stairs there is a kitchen, which we did not use, but it was really great to have in case we had cheese or other food to put in the fridge overnight. The location is great, and parking spots are easily available after all the tourists leave the town in the evening.
