The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, which was particularly appreciated as I was very tired when we arrived and not functioning at my best. The room was spacious and comfortable with everything we needed. Breakfast was plentiful with a good variety of options, and we were given a breakfast box when we had a very early check-out, which more than met our needs. The air conditioning was easy to control, giving us a comfortable rather than freezing room. Staff were helpful in arranging our trip to Borobudur and providing other directions. The location is close to a shopping mall with a food court, which was very suitable for us. It was also quick and easy to walk down to the Sultan's Palace from the hotel.

Super cheap dorm hostel (single room is a dorm I think that confuses people), it's super tidy and neat, they give you free water and toothbrush/paste and towel and soaps which is crazy for this cheap. Don't know why it's got bad reviews, it was really one of the nicest sleeps I've had. Has a lovely rooftop too. Reception says they aren't great in English but I think it's absolutely fine and I'd recommend just learn a few words of Indonesian if you're staying in yogyakarta anyway. If you're trying to find it on Google it's called hotel Penak malioboro. Fantastic location for this price. Loved it :)

Booked 2 room and we got the whole part of house for ourselves. The house owner was really a nice person. He helped us to get our laundry done in timely manner. He made sure his guests were comfortable. 10-15 mins walk to Malioboro Walk, a lot of food stalls can be found nearby. No lobby and the house works like an Asian house, feels like home.
