It was horrible. There was black mold in the shower. The lady owner is just horrible and rude! I won’t stay there again due to this after been going there for years. She will not give a late checkout not even 30 minutes which the majority of hotels/motels will accommodate to! Horrible experience. I have pictures of bathroom and being basically a housekeeping supervisor rooms were not

If you like the historical colonial setting, Yorktown is desirable and educational. Many of the old buildings are there to be toured and background information is present. But, If you just want a beach experience, as we did, Yorktown Beach is rather disappointing. Not enough places to eat or park. No other real attractions. We did find excellent seafood dinners at Chippers close to the hotel. Yorktown itself is easy to navigate and there were grocery stores, pharmacies, and other services and shops close to the hotel.

Not a party town, but a pleasant place with a great view if you want a relatively simple get-away. It does get a bit crowded in season. If you're good at making the most of not too many options, the view is lovely.

Everyone should visit the place that started America with Washington's defeat of Cornwallis. The town is beautiful in every season. You can drive through the battlefields or on the Colonial Parkway. Eat at "The Pub" within steps of the Duke of York as you watch activity on the York River. You might even see a Navy ship or submarine headed to the Naval Weapons station! End up your day with a Yorktown Ghost tour. You will never want to leave!€

my sisters enjoyed the short time.

my sisters enjoyed the short time. We Rode through and snapped a few pictures 📷 at the beach ⛱. We couldn't visit the museum because of covid 19. However, Virginia seems to be a bit more safe than some other places. Next time we'll be able to visit other landmarks. The beach was the best place though.

The elegant B&B house fits right in with the historical and quaint Yorktown. David, the host, couldn’t’t have been friendlier or more interesting. The room was very nice, the breakfast superior. The. B&B is a short walking distance to the Yorktown restaurants. Jamestown and Williamsburg are a short scenic drive away on the Colonial Parkway. The cozy living room has as sorts of artifacts and books; a great place to relax after a big day of sightseeing, If you like American history, this is the perfect place to stay.

I cannot say enough great things about this location! Quiet, close to Williamsburg , able to check in very late, the rooms were CLEAN!! and didn’t smell badly! The air conditioner was great, water was hot and pressure was strong. The fridge, freezer and tv all worked properly. I want so badly to give them a perfect 10 BUT the mattress really needs to be replaced. It was noisy and I could feel the springs. I will be returning (just bringing a mattress topper with me!!) Oh, did I mention affordable? Yep, that too!

The breakfast was fantastic both days. Quiche, two kinds one day, with fruit, egg & cheese casserole another day sure was great. Sitting inside with lots of history on all the walls was wonderful. Sitting outside with an after dinner drink watching fireflies was a topper to the day. Finally we sure enjoyed David’s history lesson talk at breakfast of what went on in Yorktown over the years.

Being that it’s the only hotel on the waterfront, it’s definitely worth the stay. However, it is very dated so don’t expect anything above a typical beach motel experience. Our room was clean, view was great, and the pool was open. If you’re looking for a nice little weekend getaway, this is a good spot to go.

Chose the hotel because it was near family. Adult kid just needed a place to shower and sleep--which Red Roof Inn has always been reliable for. But the room was barely adequately clean and the bed was only okay. Everything shabby.
