What a gem of a property- old school motel feel with clean rooms and kind staff. Self check-in was easy. Rates cannot be beat. It was a peaceful space away from the busy commercial districts. Would definitely recommend to folks looking for a low key vibe.

The many attractions of Berkshire County, especially in summer, are legendary. A car is almost a necessity, although Amtrak service (one train daily, two on summer weekends) is available. The Amtrak station is located one block from The Hotel on North Street.

I came for the Berkshire Opera Festival which was nice.
I came for the Berkshire Opera Festival which was nice. The Berkshire Museum is rather eclectic and not particularly interesting. The Stage Company is quite good. There are other things to see (Herman Melville's house etc.) but they are far. If you are coming to Pittsfield, I recommend driving - I took Amtrak but discovered there is no Uber or Lyft service so I was not able to go beyond downtown. Not many quality restaurants and the town closes up pretty early.

You'll enjoy the comforts of Hotel on North, and the people of Pittsfield, so warm & friendly.
While the hotel may have the feel of a New York Kimpton, temper your expectations for the city center. Like many places in the Berkshires, Pittsfield is doing its best to generate a new economy since manufacturing went elsewhere. Do come stay, and spend, to help make it more vibrant!

Pittsfield itself is a great launching point for a Berkshires vacation as it's handy to Lenox, Great Barrington, Stockbridge, and North Adams. It has some TERRIFIC restaurants, LOTS of theaters, and a couple of worthwhile tourist places on its own.

We were surprised to see so many attractions that were close to your hotel. We went to see Norman Rockwell Museum, Ventfort Hall Mansion, The Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, Berkshire Botanical gardens, The Divine Shrine of Mercy, Mark Twain's House and Harriet Beecher Stowe's House. The Restaurants we ate in were Mazzeo's, Zucchini's, Misty Moonlight diner, the tavern at the Red Lion Inn, Ninety-Nine Restaurant. Getting around Pittsfield was very easy and not much traffic. One road coming into Pittsfield was under construction and unfortunately our GPS took us on this road to get to the Berkshire Mountain Lodge.
The location is nice as long as you have a car. It’s very private and quiet, despite being in Pittsfield. Feels like you’re in nature a bit. The room was warm and relatively cozy. The TV worked great. There is a fridge, a microwave, and a little coffee machine. I was surprised by how many amenities there were given the price. I would likely stay here again. It’s also self check-in. They just give you a code, which makes things really easy.
The breakfast was a good variety - there were cereal, muffins, eggs, bagels, waffles, juices, fruit. There was a dedicated staff member making sure everything was full. We went down the street for dinner to the Roasted Garlic which was a great little spot, helpfully recommended by the hotel staff. We had a suite which was a great fit for our family and everyone had a comfy bed and didn't have to share.
Hotel is very close to our property, so it is a perfect location for extra guests.
It looks like the hotel was recently upgraded. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable and the shower water pressure/temperature could be controlled easily.
Staff was very accommodating and supplied us extra towels and toiletries when requested.
Fantastic studio with modern, elegant furniture, functional and spotless clean, cozy and very comfortable and quiet. In walking distance to town center of Pittsfield and shopping center. Surroundings offer great hiking (e.g.
Appalachian trail in Dalton).
Comfortable hotel with clean rooms and convenient location. Loved having Guidos organic market just down the hill from the hotel - we were able to get sandwiches and even vegan pizza from the market so we didn't have to eat every meal out.
Beautiful area to walk or eat cheap fast food. 🍱 I loved the mirror and the bed. Pittsfield downtown is not far away and you can go 30 minutes by car to the amazing The Clark Museum or Tanglewood for concerts. I also liked the pool!
The pool was a real bonus! The on-site restaurant was a delight - excellent food and amusing bartender. The central location was perfect for my needs. Would stay there again without hesitation - lovely hotel.
I only ate the breakfast one time while I stayed at this hotel but it seemed fine. The location was perfect and I can imagine in the summer that it would be a great place to look out at the grass and the trees.
When first walked in was a bad mold mildew smell.
I was kicked out for having a cat and they don’t classify a cat a pet so I had to find another hotel.
Online it says pet friendly.
The location was great for easy access to Pittsfield or to Lenox. The rooms were large with lots of space and having a kitchen was a bonus. Bed was comfortable.
My wife is in a wheelchair. The manager and staff ensured those needs were met and assured us prior to our arrival. Also got some good info about Pittsfield.
