Courtyard Novato Marin/Sonoma, hotel in Novato

In Novato, California, this Courtyard hotel is a 10 minute drive to Dominican University of California. It features an outdoor pool and deck, a gym and all rooms include a refrigerator.

Room was nice and clean. Very spacioius. Staff super friendly. Close to everything. No problems with request for a later check out. Breakfast and Dinner menu items were fantastic considering not a regular full fledge restaurant. I HIGHLY recommend the French Toast with Strawberries and the Avocado Toast...both very well done in Bistro style. TV in the room is GIANT for a hotel. Rates for weeknight not bad either for the area.

metro hotel, hotel in Novato

Located in Petaluma, 15 miles from Mission San Francisco Solano, metro hotel provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant.

This is a charming hotel with a delicious breakfast and coffee. The location is perfect for walking to downtown Petaluma restaurants and shops. Free parking is an added bonus. The decor of the hotel took me back to vacations in France. The room size was amazing and our bed was very comfortable.

This hotel is a great value!

This hotel is a great value! It's not fancy but it's clean and they are working at updating the rooms. It's close to Point Reyes National Seashore, Muir Woods and downtown San Francisco but it's far enough away that it feels safe and it's very affordable. There wasn't much for breakfast but the breakfasts aren't great even at the hotels that have a lot of offerings for breakfast. We ended up stopping to eat at the Marin French Cheese Co. and highly recommend it.

It's a small town surrounded by hills and beautiful landscapes. It's full of Ma and Pa's businesses. It's relaxing. Sit at the lounge and have a coffee, You'll feel that time just stopped. It's laid back and in contrast to a crowded San Francisco, just 30-minute drive. Proximity to vineyards and wineries.

Perfect for those who don't want to be in the city but convenient enough to visit to San Francisco. And convenient to visit the wine country of Sonoma and Napa Valley and go a little further north to see the tall redwoods forest.

    This stay was rather pricey.

This stay was rather pricey. Although clean and generally acceptable, there was only a very basic room/facilities. On the positive side, breakfast was nice with many options. Restaurant next door, Perry's, was really fun and we went twice.

    An interesting downtown area.

An interesting downtown area. Met some very nice and helpful folks. Was disappointed that the American Indian Museum was closed but no advance notice of same. That was my primary reason for visiting the town. Apparently they are remodeling. I found the Novato Historical Museum instead. Talked with several helpful, knowledgeable and friendly staffers. Two ladies recommended a good place for dinner, Grazies, which was very good. A “happening” downtown on Saturday night. Felt safe walking from and back to my car for dinner.

Should say first off that I has intended to camp out the night I stayed here, but tent camping in Marin is a pretty sad affair as far as I can tell. The good: Staff was helpful and friendly, and value was OK because of the very low price (under $100 including tax). The room was spacious and seemed to be in working order. The bad: Motel is located next to working RR tracks (maybe 30 yds from the room entrances), TV is maybe 24", but did have HBO. The "balcony/patio" seemed to be about 8-10 sq ft and may not have had a door leading to it. The ugly: the mattress may have been just springs wrapped in a heavy sheet. Also, it appeared that the front door had been forced open with a large pry bar at least once in the past. Overall, it was an inexpensive, clean, and indoor place to sleep for a night in an area that's generally less affordable, and that's really all I needed at the time.

A fine place to stay for one night. You definitely get what you pay for. The facilities are outdated but clean. The bed was alright, the shower - very comfortable and with good pressure. The room was much bigger than expected. The breakfast consists of muffins and two types of cereal plus coffee. Nothing spectacular, but very convenient if you're in a rush, and kind of the same can be said about the hotel as a whole :) All staff members I've encountered were very friendly and helpful.

Safe well-lit parking lot, clean updated rooms with quality construction, good wifi, safe location and hotel for single woman traveler. Breakfast buffet had good options, there was an outdoor pool, a reading nook with books to borrow, and computers for printing out boarding pass. This was nicer than a usual Best Western in my opinion. Easy on-off to 101. Good pillows, good room temp, good bed! Very pleased. Nice sized fridge in the room as well.

Our first night we had some issues, but I must say that the manager more than made up for the problems. I read that this hotel was old and it is but old is not always bad. I think this place is charming. It’s in a wooded like setting, and the rooms are comfortable and very very clean. The TVs were huge and the dish network set up they had was fantastic. Lots of free movies to choose from. I would happily stay at this place again.
