It’s a bit noisy because of being right on I80. But the walking and bike paths around the hotel are wonderful.

Loved the spacious rooms. Very comfortable beds and overall fantastic stay. Clean and very friendly staff welcomed us. Parking was easy, right outside the hotel and we were allowed to bring in our precious senior dog. Our dog is a huge part of our family so it was amazing to find such a nice hotel, also welcoming pets.

We enjoyed walking all over
Bummer was Hotel was falling apart No Elevator for our 6 days stay we were on the second floor of the hotel so we had to climb lots of steps to get to and from our room the ice machine was broken on our floor and when we first arrive for four hours no water
But all the staff and the managers were all very nice there and pleasant, very good breakfast and that was it

Great place to stay in Davis.
Great place to stay in Davis. Close enough to UC Davis that we didn't have to get up early for Aggie Day. There were good restaurants nearby (highly recommend the Japanese one) and a fab grocery store.

Be prepared for a friendly hotel that has slipped away from its previous high standards, with rooms badly in need of a facelift. It has all the facilities, though some are slightly shabby. It definitely needs tighter management and staff with better training.

The hotel met my expectation.
The hotel met my expectation. However, I was charged about $15 over the price that was shown during booking and confirmation. I asked why but was told it was for incidental and would be refunded upon checked out. It was not refunded when I checked out. In fact, I was not given a receipt even I had asked for one. Booking.com has not done anything to help me to resolve this situation. It is not so much about the $15 but it is the principle of the hotel not meeting its advertised price.

The city is beautiful the food is fantastic.
The city is beautiful the food is fantastic. It is possible to visit many places by walking and there are good public transport options to Sacramento and the Bay area. Davis is definitely one of my favorite places.

I lived in Davis for many years, so I know where I want to go when I am there. I recommend the Davis Food Co-op for bulk foods, organic produce, and spices hard to find elsewhere. There is an Asian market on Fourth street. The Farmers Market is Wednesday afternoon and Saturday morning. Davis Ace Hardware has a good selection of kitchen wares, towels, and napkins. Pence Gallery on D Street and The Artery on G Street have original art for sale. There are independent book stores downtown, one for new books and toys, another for used books. There are three movie theaters downtown - one for indie films. The arboretum and university campus are favorite places to walk. Unitrans buses can take you around town - walk down third street to campus to get on board. There is a variety of restaurants on Second and Third streets, E and G Streets, and the university student union on campus. Indian and Nepalese food are especially good. Amtrak service is frequent.
The Vine Inn is in the perfect location in downtown Davis, walking distance to stores, restaurants, Amtrak, arboretum and UC Davis. Breakfast is included and has a good, limited selection. The bathroom has all new, modern fixtures and a huge showerhead. The room includes a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and real, brightly colored mugs. An iron, ironing board, and hair dryer are stored in a drawer. The colorful rug and large photos on the walls are nice touches. The bed is comfortable.
The hotel is not quite in the city center proper but still very close by.
Even though the railway is close the noise from the train did not bother us.
Staff was very friendly, we had a long stay and they upgraded us to a cottage without us asking.
Free comfortable parking right in front.
We went during Picnic Day at UC Davis and there was no loud partying nearby.
Advice -- if you stay longer, get the paid cleaning service at least every 2 days.
This hotel was one of the cheapest of our Californian trip yet it was one of the most modern, cleanest and offered the biggest room! Really good value for money.
We enjoyed the pool, we loved the big airy room, very comfortable bed! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was just what we needed to start the day off and very uncomplicated - which we liked.
I was attending a conference on the UC Davis conference center, and for this the location was perfect (3 minutes of relaxed walk). The staff was very nice, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. They let me check in early and were very nice and accommodating with any questions or requests I had.
The location in Davis was very nice; there is a train nearby so if you're sensitive to noise be aware of this. It didn't bother me much, but I'm a pretty heavy sleeper. The room was large and the beds and sofa bed were comfortable. It was very clean and we were generally pretty happy with the room.
Breakfast was subpar for a 3 star hotel. No hard boiled eggs, nondairy milk or half and half. The only bagels were packaged plain ones, and the same scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes were the hot options every day. Fruit was similarly limited.
Great location near campus and nature trail and promenade. Nice small hotel in a mixed residential/light commercial, tree lined neighborhood. Everything was good except the rooms are small. But still comfortable. Also, close to some restaurants.
Clean, close to stores and somewhat close to UC Davis, had almond milk available at breakfast. Bathrooms updated. Bed comfortable. Temperature of room regulated well, fridge in room and both not too noisy.
The room was very nicely designed exceeding my expectations! The little private outdoor patio was another bonus. The Vines is very conveniently located to downtown Davis and the Amtrak station.
This is a trim little hotel in downtown Davis with a parking lot. It was safe and clean and had access to a a coffee shop and a bar. Roomy living space with desk and lots of plugs.
We booked two large rooms and it was a comfortable stay. parking right in front of room and walking distance to downtown Davis.
there is also a nice pool and a small gym.
Room all good but poor soundproof. Guest upstairs, with a kid, walking and jumping until midnight. Reception very kind. Location convenient to UC Davis driving a car
