Charming waterfront and very child friendly.
Charming waterfront and very child friendly. The pirate boat play area and splash pad is so nice for the little ones. We only walked around the centre up to the walkway bridge which present a marvelous view. As we are not trekkers, we only passed by Picton to proceed to Nelson from Wellington, and as overnight stop for the Interisland ferry back. There were many road closures when we visited. Perhaps next time, we will explore the surrounds.

A lovely little town with some fabulous walks.
A lovely little town with some fabulous walks. Stay a couple of days after getting off the ferry instead of just driving through. ( Although a little busy when a cruise ship arrived in port, but they are not there every day!)

Great place.
Great place. We stayed at Picton Campervan Park and it was a great walking distance to pubs and town. They have cabins that are absolutely spotless and so comfortable. The beach and foreshore are just alive with people, watching all the flash boats coming and going. Sitting on the veranda of the Waitoi Tavern, sheltered from the sun and enjoying conversation with friendly people travelling was just tops. And the meals at the Waitoi Tavern were value for money in comparison to the other pubs. Fish was so fresh! and plenty of it on the plate! We only stayed two nights, just wasn't long enough, already planning another trip!
Easy to find, park right in front of the room. Friendly management/owners. Let us use the laundry for free. Room was cozy, clean and comfortable. Shower was great with lots of hot water. Actually one of the best hotels we have stayed at in 8 weeks traveling New Zealand. Table and chairs on the small porch if you care to sit outside. Short walk to the oldest pub in town which serves good pub food and specials every night. My go to hotel in Picton if we ever return!
Barry and Cora's apartment was indeed fabulous!
The private spa pool with gorgeous views of Picton was fantastic and we enjoyed our stay very much.
Barry was such a kind and brilliant host! We really appreciated his coming to pick us up from the bus station and drop us off at the ferry terminal upon check out. We highly recommend this place :-)
Amazing. After driving from the North of the north island and getting to the hotel at 2am. Easily found my name and room number on reception door and the key. And even the view at night is amazing. And I couldn’t believe my eyes of the absolute beauty I saw in the morning. Cannot wait to stay again to visit and explore Picton. 20/10.
Although the size of the room was not exactly large, it was one of the best accommodations I've had. This place has some New Zealand "spirit" and good vibe. It is in the center of Picton so everything is really close (1 to 5 min walk). Tiny small room with everything you need. Will book again.
I arrived very late due to delayed ferry . They held my room for me and even turned on the heater . My room was warm and cozy on a dark rainy night. The staff is excellent, Ange is so thoughtful . Highly recommend this motel near the Ferry in Picton.
Love this hotel. Very spacious and private unit with a great bed and shower. There was a comfortable couch in the living area and 2 TVs, one in the bedroom area as well. Felt like luxury. Will stay there whenever I go through Picton
Location is reasonably close to the Picton township, and the facilities are fantastic. Nice warm welcome from the staff. Stayed in one of the motels, reasonably priced, great parking for my Ute, I would love to stay here again.
Good location for ferry. Room are simple but clean and relatively cheap. Facilities are good and the staff are pleasant. This is the first time we have stayed here but will be booking again when we next pass through Picton.
The room view, facilities, and value for money exceed my expectations. Definitely my new go to place when I want a luxury night accommodation in Picton.
