Petes Place, hotel in Arthur's Pass

Boasting a patio with mountain views, a garden and barbecue facilities, Petes Place can be found in Arthur's Pass, close to Arthur's Pass Train Station and 700 metres from Arthur's Pass National Park....

Pete's Place really is the prettiest little house we have ever seen. The garden is beautiful and lovingly laid out; the interior is surprisingly modern and very tastefully furnished. We were all particularly impressed by the bathroom. The equipment was very good, we had all we needed. Everything is clean and in top condition. In our opinion, Pete's Place is the ideal accommodation for 2-3 people on site.

Holiday Chalet in Arthurs Pass, hotel in Arthur's Pass

Offering garden views, Holiday Chalet in Arthurs Pass is an accommodation located in Arthur's Pass, 700 metres from Arthur's Pass National Park and 1.4 km from Devils Punchbowl Falls.

This place offered me alot more than I expected. The place was really big and had more than enough room for me. The front entrance was quite decieving as it didn't look like much. But when I went to the 1st floor, was quite surprised to see how massive and luxury the place was. The kitchen was too good. The house had everything we need. Would definitely go again if I stay in Arthur's pass.

Love the location as can have a break when travelling long distances and need to rest. Meals were provided as that makes a difference in such a location. Views are breathtaking in the area and the hotel is olde worlde.

Was nice to just relax and be cosy by the fire. The fire warmed the place up extremely well. Great bird life and seeing the train go past on occasion added to the experience. Me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would do it again. Another thing I must mention is that I brought my dog with me. Finding good pet friendly accommodation isn't too easy

Arthur's Pass is a 'shadow' of its former self.

Arthur's Pass is a 'shadow' of its former self. I first visited in the 1970's and for several decades since it has been a vibrant and busy alpine village boasting several cafe's, restaurants, and accommodation choices - plus a large and informative DoC Centre. Not any more. Very little accommodation choice in the village, and just one cafe open only during the day so you must bring your own food & supplies if wanting an evening meal. And the original DoC centre is closed and moved over the road into a container! All a little sad really, although the surrounding mountain views are definitely compensatory! So fine if planning to use AP as a base for day walks & multi-day tramping expeditions, Otherwise it is hard to justify a stay there other than as an overnight transit stop. As we were. But remember to bring food & supplies for dinner!

Overall I thought the place was great.

Overall I thought the place was great. We only wanted to have a nice relaxing break in our journey, so we just did some short walking 🚶‍♂️ tracks to the waterfall ect, the scenery in the area is very good, the place is very beautiful and relaxing. And the Bealey Hotel is a must go to place for dinner with its knockout scenery and top shelf food and drinks.

Enjoyed short walks around Arthur’s Pass village, especially the Bealey Valley walk. Visitor’s Centre didn’t have guide books (out of print),so best to plan online in advance. Exciting to see keas in village and at top of pass (Death’s View car park). Wish we could have stayed longer to explore longer trails.

Arthurs Pass is one of those places I love coming back to.

Arthurs Pass is one of those places I love coming back to. Not just for the Kea but also for the drive there, it is magical. It can get very busy in the summer months though. One thing to note. If you are staying the night, there are no shops there to speak of and the cafe is usually only open from 8 to 5 (at the moment 4.30 due to staffing issues). So best to stock up on your food and fuel (!) before you leave either side.

Its a long drive to see devil's bowl waterfall.

Its a long drive to see devil's bowl waterfall. You can skip this if you already went for milford sound. The hike is short but had to climb several flights of stairs. Mum who is 73yrs gave up at the start. The experience was gd to be upclose to thw waterfall but it is much smaller than ive expected. There are several other hikes along the same paths but we didnt have time nor the energy to try the rest

Extremely Scenic (we fortunately got superb weather - Sunny :)) We stayed at The Tussocks for 2 nights (highly recommend the Tussocks) and did the Devils Punch Bowl and Bealy Spur Track. Devils Punch Bowl is steep but short, and waterfall is majestic. The Bealy Spur Track is moderately challenging, not very steep but has a nagging gradient all the way through to the Bealy Top Hut which is at 1540m. There was lot of snow near the hut (Mid Sept) and enjoyed and played in the snow while it was sunny. The forests, plateaus with Tussock grass are extremely enjoyable to walk and views of the surrounding mountains are stunning from the top. Took us 2.5 hours to climb and 2 hours to descend for total 4.5 hr return walk. Highly enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Arthur’s Pass Alpine Motel is a great place to stay! The room has everything you could need, including cooking facilities; there is even board games and movies to borrow from reception. Pete and Fi were lovely and helpful. When we arrived, we were recommended several walks and things to see in the area. We woke up in the morning to it snowing and Fi assured us that the walking tracks would still be fine - we had a lovely walk in the snow! We will definitely be back in the future to see more of the National park!

What an amazing place. Anyone travelling to (or through) Arthur’s Pass MUST prioritise time to stay at Pete’s Place. It is an idyllic rest for the soul. Yes, the shower pressure is amazing and the underfloor heating adds a luxury but, to stop and hear the silence, interrupted by native birds song while experiencing a different jaw dropping view from each window is the real power of this place. I’m coming back to write my next book but might ask that the Wi-fi and Netflix is turned off so I can focus.

A beautiful, cozy cottage set in a gorgeous location. Surrounded by snow covered peaks, rugged landscape, and wildlife. We had Kea visit everyday and we loved watching the rabbits hop around in the evening. The house is in a quiet location giving the peace and rest we needed. It was equipped with everything we needed. Very comfortable house in a gorgeous location. Arthur’s Pass is a delightful village with very generous locals. It is a hiker’s paradise and has become my favourite place in New Zealand.

The lodge was beautiful and the pleasant surprise with the electric blanket was a nice touch! The room was comfy, cosy and warm and offered a lovely night sleep. We got woke up early hours by the Kea Parrot but didn’t mind as this was extremely fantastic as we hadn’t seen them before. The lady that checked is in was friendly and accommodating and the next day let us leave our car on the drive by the lodge while we explored Arthur’s pass.

This lodge is lovely and the location is convenient to most of the walking tracks / hikes. Received a warm Kiwi welcome and the owner was very friendly and helpful. Such a comfy bed which was great after a long day of hiking! The shared kitchen and dining area is beautiful and has everything you may need. I will definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

Beautiful little lodge situated at the picturesque Arthur's Pass. There are panoramic views of the mountains and the floor heating is divine to shield us from the cold! Such a cosy stay after a day of heavy rain from the West Coast. It was snowing so hard in the morning so it was wonderful to see and absorb it all.

Conveniently located beside a cafe and the bus stop at Arthurs pass. It was a last minute urgent decision to stay at Arthur Pass village and this lodge seems to be the only one operating and available, so we were grateful. The room was also nicely heated.
