The place is fairly convenient. The room is clean and comfortable with all the amenities required for a short stay. Very polite and helpful staff, not to mention that the food is really nice! It comes with a complimentary breakfast but I had my dinner at the hotel as well and it was great.

Onn Nakatsugawa is a beautiful and modern boutique hotel located close to the train station, in a very centric but quiet area of Nakatsugawa, full of cafes and restaurants. It’s also on the old Nakasendo and you can visit a few of the historic buildings of the town.
The hotel is very nice (as the staff), has public baths, free coffee throughout the day and rice in the evening, plus amenities such as toothbrush, razor, yukata, etc. You have to take off your shoes which is a nice detail. We had the Comfort Twin room with shower and it was decently spacious.

specifically i took the akechi railway from ena station to libama station and stayed for a few nights. it was a lovely countryside and i had a good rest and walk around. the old iwamura castle town was nearby. personally i preferred this old castle town. its a charming quiet place, a lovely place to enjoy history and culture, the free museums that showed you the life of the past, and the hospitality of the people. iwamura castle town is within walking distance from the akechi railway iwamura station. the akechi railway ride itself was also lovely. it brought you down memory lane and beautiful views of the countryside.
