My wife and I spent 4 wonderful days at Ultimo Mulino. The country hotel is nestled in a beautiful forested valley in the Chianti region. The charm of the hotel was undeniable and the comfort and cleanliness was well above average. We particularly loved the pool, sauna and jacuzzi, which were excellent for relaxing after a busy day of exploring the area and driving through zigzagging roads. The restaurant on the premises was very convenient and served great Tuscan food. We would have stayed longer if we had more time. We will definitely be back should we visit the area again.

The location was fantastic!
The location was fantastic! You are completely surrounded by beauty.
The only problem I personally had was the heat... and I was unable to produce cross current ventilation in the downstairs area where my daughter slept on the sofa bed because of the lack of screens on the doors ....and you needed them because of mosquitoes and bees! Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay.

We loved it .
We loved it . We loved the staff , the wine and the breakfast was magnificent. The gardens were a dream and the kids enjoyed the pool . The restaurant on-site was expensive and the kids would have loved some more basic options . The room was clean and linen good however o feel that the accommodation could be upgraded some what . The staff went out of there way to help and the most friendly hotel staff we have come across in Italy .

The facility was just as advertised, rustic and authentic Tuscan accommodation. We were disappointed that we booked a separate villa with a kitchen unit and was given a suite instead with little explanation. Had a tub instead of a walk in shower and no place to make our own cooking which was one of the reasons we chose this property. Our room was sparse but comfortable but the heater in the sitting area was not working. The wifi was spotty and not reliable, same for mobile phone service. Staff was friendly and the countryside was remote but beautiful.

Gaiole is very much where the best wines are in Tuscany.
Gaiole is very much where the best wines are in Tuscany. The town itself is more of a very small village with not a great deal to see or do. There are a few decent restaurants but nothing great. Two banks with ATMs right in the middle of the village can be useful for travelers. One charges a small fee for withdrawals, the other doesn't. If you're there in October, like we were, there's an annual wine festival attended by all the vineyards in the area. This was a plus for us. One of the best things about Gaiole, though, is that it makes a great base for visiting the surrounding areas, including Sienna. Lots to see within an hours drive. And drives are absolutely spectacular, especially if you take your time and stop often.

A pretty town with lovely people!
A pretty town with lovely people! Easy to get around by car and many interesting activities to partake in e.g. wine tasting, picnic, hiking, or just relaxing in the grounds of one of the nearby Castellos e.g. Castello di Tornano.

Excellent stay in Tuscany, very close to couple of nice wineries (by the car). They also have the winery with the wine testing option.
The staff was really nice and accommodating to all our requests and they suggested things to do in the area. The breakfast was excellent and they even had gluten free options for me. Our room was big and clean.
The outdoor pool was one of the best part of our stay! We really loved it there and will be back!
We absolutely loved the relaxing setting and atmosphere of this hotel. It is extremely picturesque and a lot of the older features of the property make for a stunning backdrop to evening meals and poolside sunbathing!
The staff were very friendly and made us feel extremely welcome, and the food at the restaurant in the evening was absolutely outstanding! Breakfast was also to a high standard and the coffee is wonderful.
La Canonica Di Nusena, this place was so far the best from the 4 B&B we stayed in 🇮🇹the two host are exceptional and beyond expectations! You don't have to worry about language barrier Simone is like the United Nations in languages, he speaks it all and makes you feel like this your home. The food is excellent as well !Thank you Simone and Alessio for your hospitality.

A tranquil oasis overlooking the Vineyards of Chianti. Amazing infinity pool that truly gives a holiday feeling. Rooms and bed are very comfortable, decorated with typical tuscan charm. Self service bar was perfect to watch the sunset with a glass of Capanelle wine.
Despite its serene location, it is still very close to town and restaurants for dinner.
Beautiful breakfast spot on the veranda. We had the small attic room, with the most incredible views. We loved every minute of our stay here at Castello di Spaltenna.
Our first night we had dinner at the Michelin star restaurant at the hotel, which surprised us in every way. Incredible amuse bouche, food & wine - incredible service throughout.
We had a fantastic time here! Assunta’s cooking is TOP NOTCH and the property location is postcard perfect. It was so quiet every night and was the perfect spot to escape the cities for a while during our Italy vacation. We had a great time on the hike and e-bike ride with Rudiger and hope to return in the future. Would recommend it to anyone!!
We had the whole lower floor of the house with our own living room and kitchen as well as bathroom and bedroom. There is a swimming pool and outside table for breakfast in the sunshine. It is very well situated as it is a very short walk into the centre for restaurants and bars. There is also sheltered parking at the house
We had a fantastic time at this hotel! Every aspect exceeded our expectations. The room was comfortable and beautifully designed, the landscape was breathtaking, the swimming pool was refreshing, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended!
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Given the ancientness of the building – with is part of its undeniable charm - the room appointments and overall facilities were surprisingly modern. And, of course, the scenery in that area of Tuscany is breathtaking; like staying in a picture postcard of Italy.
Great location and views, severely let down by a lack of basic good hotel services.
The staff were nice and pleasant but clearly haven't seen a hotel operating at this price level.
Room and bed were comfortable but overpriced.
I have stayed in the area at various hotels over the last 10 years.
beautiful house, we felt at home from the first minute
the garden & pool are great
you can stay there long time
at the kitchen you will find all you need
good restaurants in walking distance (we follow the owner recommendation)
the owner was very nice
Beautiful hotel in the middle of the forest!
Great staff.
Excellent breakfast.
DELICIOUS dinner (recommended by michelin guide), don't miss it!
Large and nice room with Netflix TV. Bathroom was large and convenient as well.
Parking is great.
It is in a gorgeous setting among vineyards and rolling hills of Tuscany. The staff went above and beyond in accommodating us and provided great information about other wineries to visit. The pool was fabulous and their wine was delicious!
The whole setting is absolutely stunning - rustic, quiet and secluded. Close to beautiful wineries and restaurants. The staff are lovely and the buffet breaky was fantastic. You definitely need a car, otherwise you’re stuck there.
Charming small hotel in the center of Gaiole. The terrace is wonderful and the room was comfortable. We were welcomed by a very friendly host, who gave us helpful information for our bike trip. Breakfast was great.
Great small B&B hotel in the center of Gaiole. Massimo the host is absolutely fantastic. A truly nice human being and always happy to help with anything. For the price and location this is a great place.
Amazing location with great views. Next to that very nice old fort with traditional hotel room. Very special. Room also very clean and great airco. Very friendly welcome and a great wine tasting.
