It was a very cosy stay, we deliberately booked a small facility instead of a larger hotel and got what we hoped for. Since we only stayed two nights and wandered around most of the day, we experienced our stay at this B&B in the mornings with breakfast. And it was a very pleasant experience, we all felt very good and relaxed, the owners were very fiendly and helpful. We all agreed that their breakfast is one of our fondest memories from our trip to Ireland.

Convenient. Location.
Attention to detail.
The owners run this establishment as a couple for 25 years .
I would not stay anywhere else.
Great beds and shower.

This was one of the best, if not the best hotel experience of the last 5-10 years. Large and extremely cozy rooms, very attentive room service, fantastic breakfast and dinner, great location, and above all the friendliness and warmth of the host Henry. It couldn’t have been better, except the weather maybe.

Great space in the room in a perfect location. Free parking and self-catering kitchen as an added bonus. The shower was great too.
Host very friendly and easy going. Set the town for our stay :)
This was a great place to explore the surrounding areas.
This was a great place to explore the surrounding areas. It also has a castle in the area and an association with the film The Quiet Man. It is a friendly town with 2 supermarkets and a number of places to eat.

A cute small town with nice restaurants and cafes.
A cute small town with nice restaurants and cafes. A few nice shops. Nice place to stay I'd you're traveling around Connemara. It's about and hour to Kylemore Abby as well as to the ferry or airport that gets you to the Aran Islands. Definitely work a stop if you have some time. Powers is a wonderful pub and restaurant.

Good base for touring Connemara and Mayo. No meals in Hotel.
Good base for touring Connemara and Mayo. No meals in Hotel. We ate our evening meal at pub/restaurant across road from Hotel. I can't remember name but it had a thatched roof and food was excellent.

It is a small town with a village atmosphere.
It is a small town with a village atmosphere. It's not far from Galway city centre and as hotels can be pricey in the city I would strongly suggest travellers take a look at this as an alternative. The town is filled with pubs and eateries and places to stay. I stayed at the Connemara Lake Hotel, right in the centre of the town and rate it highly. As a solo traveller I found the area friendly and welcoming. There is a small castle nearby which is worth a quick look, but the Glengowla Mines four kilometres away on the road to Clifden is a treat. Really interesting and the scenery out towards the coastal town of Clifden is beautiful. A lovely part of the world.
This b&b was truly great. The house itself was really beautiful, the room was a little small but more than fine for 3 people and all the facilities were perfect and clean. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. And Teresa was truly the kindest and really helpful, always a warm smile at breakfast. Her breakfasts were stunning as well, everything was delicious, especially the pancakes!
The house is situated just on the edge of Oughterard, in walking distance of the center with supermarkets, pubs and restaurants.
During our two day stay we had a big room including a bathroom to ourselves. Even though the breakfast times are fixed our host made an exception as we had to get to the ferry early in the morning and we could eat half an hour earlier then usually possible. To make it as fast as possible she even took our order for the meal immediately so we would not loose any time in the morning. In addition we got a great recommendation for a dinner place in Oughterard. We had a very pleasant stay!
Breakfast was excellent. Once acclimated the location proved excellent.. A comfortable drive to Kylemore Abbey and Ashford Castle. A nice and affordable golf course nearby and and a beautiful lake for boating and fishing just down the street. Also a boxing club and football club in town. The town of Oughterard had a few nice Pub's and a grocery that was well stocked. Our host Christian was great and his new puppy Emily couldn't be more adorable
We stayed here for one week as we explored County Galway. The house is centrally located, so it was easy to get everywhere we wanted to go within one hour. Mary and Gerry are fantastic hosts and made us feel right at home. Mary gave us great suggestions of things to do and places to eat in the area. Each morning we had a hot breakfast prepared to order. We wanted a local Irish place to stay, and that is exactly what we got!
What a wonderful 3 nights in Oughterard. Gregory and Deirdre are amazing hosts. Deirdre generously loaned her golf trolley for my round at Oughterard Golf Course, which was just minutes away.
The location is idyllic... along the river, with a trail (short cut) into town.
Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Enjoyed visiting with the other guests while we ate.
Would love to come back during fishing season.
We usually stay in hotels but this self contained apartment was far better by a mile. Louise our host even left us bread, butter and milk. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. Immaculately clean. Only a 15 minute walk to Oughterard Village where you can find shops and restaurants. 5 minute drive to Oughterard Golf Club. A must stay if you are in the area!!
We enjoyed our stay at Camillaun very much. Deidre and Greg are great hosts - freindly and helpful. Excellent breakfast! The location is very convenient - a pleasant, short walk to Oughterard, which is a lovely little town that's a good jumping off point for exploring Connemara and Galway. House has a fantastic snooker table too!
Great location, close to town and just a walk down the road to some excellent pubs and restaurants. The facilities were nice and breakfast was excellent, although the breakfast room can be a bit chilly in the morning. Not far from Galway if you want to stay close but in a more affordable area. Staff were very helpful.
The hostess was delightful. Breakfast was excellent; plus it was an actual home-made breakfast. The area around the hotel is residential and nice to walk through. Plus the village next door was an excellent surprise: if it hadn't been for this hotel we wouldn't have stopped in Oughterard.
A lovely old hotel, like back in time for all the good reasons. Food was excellent, location delightful and well kept. A lovely stream to walk by. A perfect relax after a busy day. I will be back, Kindest regards Dympna. (Munster Rugby Supporter 😂)
The location was perfect for us. We had multiple windows we could open. The bathroom was huge! The beds were super comfy! The hotel staff was really nice, and even helped us to get our luggage to our room. Super great experience.
Great location for cycling/walking and the village of Oughterard was a short walk away. Barbara, our host was lovely, the room was exceptional and the breakfast was really good. 100% recommended.
Patricia really looked after me with lovely breakfasts and great recommendations for dinner in Oughterard. Room was cosy which was needed considering the weather. Sleet and snow in March?!
Great location, great value. rooms were basic and you had to wait a full 10 minutes for the hot water in the shower to heat up as per a notice from the hotel staff in the bathroom
The accommodation was in a charming and peaceful area. Nature, lake views, and even a castle were within walking distance. A great location for exploring the Connemara region.
Barbara was warm and welcoming. Ever so kind. Very comfortable stay. So close to the lovely town with restaurants and live music. We had a wonderful stay!
