This hotel was absolutely breathtaking. The room was amazing with a water view and our terrace. The staff was amazing, the food was absolutely delicious, and the weather was gorgeous while we were there. We felt like royalty at this resort. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating to whatever we needed. I chose to include breakfast with our stay, and I believe this is the best decision I could have made outside of extending our stay by another day. :)

Fantastic location overlooking the small picturesque harbor. Short walk to everything including shops, restaurants, water taxis and sites. Friendly/ attentive staff, very clean and well appointed facilities. Beautiful terrace, with umbrellas, couches/chairs for coffee, breakfast or just relaxing. Historic building with character.

This hotel is almost perfect. We loved our room, with a comfy bed and windows that opened out to the village. The hotel staff were warm and kind, giving us tips for dinner and info about the area. We appreciated the Nespresso coffee in our room. And the breakfast was amazing - fresh Greek food and homemade pastries. The atmosphere was peaceful and beautiful.

Charming island in a 2 hour ferry ride from Piraeus. Lots of waterside cafes and other restaurants in the center. Nice easy walks along the water, or steeper hikes up the hillside. Many shops. A good place for relaxing.

NIce island. No cars. Beaches easy to access. Plenty o decent restaurants Sometimes Hydra Town gets a bit touristy mostly when the big passenger boats come in. The business goes when the passenger ships leave! Nice opportunities for walks outside town, beautiful environment. The town is clean and there are some small supermarkets to get supplies.

Pros: Clean, great food, many options, a lot to see. Good for walking, has small horses and donkeys for transportation. No cars. Everything in walking distance. Cons: many of the restaurants were not open (March 2024), while their websites said they were. Relevantly pricey. Ugly, monstrous yachts moored at the front of the little harbour. Expect tourists with an attitude - not very friendly.

Hydra is the sort of place where you can quite happily sit at a cafe on the harbour side and do nothing apart from watch the boats and people come and go. It’s such a beautiful harbour. There’s a swimming area at the headland at one end of the harbour, where the rocks have been modelled to provide comfortable sitting and sunbathing, and where the water is an absolutely gorgeous colour. There are taxi boats to beaches further away, tho I didn’t use them.JamesUnited Kingdom

The room was cosy, very clean (evry day cleaning and changing towels) and it had a large beautiful private terrace with a lot of flowers in large red pots and with a retractable canopy.. The staf was very kind and helpfull - we could let our luggage after we have checked out until we have decided to get the boat back to the mainland.. This apartment was one street back from the water. It was quiet but also super close to everything. The breakfast took place at a restaurant near the water. It was wonderful and 100% worth including in our stay. Evi was super helpful and only a text or email away. I would stay here again if I get lucky enough to return to Hydra. The host was absolutely lovely, she met us down at the port, stocked the fridge for us and was very helpful...but also conscious to give us space. The house is perfect if you are looking for more than a hotel room, you feel like you are living in Hydra for a moment in time. Set back from the port on a lovely square it's quiet but still close to everything. It's also on the flat part of the port so no real steps to navigate. The rooms are really well equipped and have really good air conditioning which kept us cool in 32degree heat. The host Andreas is absolutely amazing. Also the accommodation is really easy to get to from the port. A lot of hotels in Hydra are higher up on the mountain and it’s difficult to get your suitcases up there.
