Ruby Cottage, hotel in Thrapston

Set in Irthlingborough, within 30 km of Kelmarsh Hall and 45 km of Milton Keynes Bowl, Ruby Cottage offers accommodation with a garden as well as free private parking for guests who drive.

Ruby Cottage is a very quaint little cottage with plenty of space, in a normal looking street. It’s a hidden gem. The annex has a beautiful courtyard that the French doors open on too. The front gate takes you on to the high street with a shop about a two minute walk away. There was a fridge in the bottom of the wardrobe with milk in it, endless choice of hot drink sachet’s. Fruit juice, even a small bottle of wine. There were even disposable toothbrush’s, should we have needed them. Tina and Richard cooked us a lovely breakfast the morning after our stay and it was restaurant quality.

Full English breakfast very good as were all the other meals we had in the resturant We were joined for those meals by up to 7 family members all equally impressed by the food , our accomodation facilities and peaceful outlook. Even horses in the field to look at! All the staff were exceptionally helpful and genuinely friendly. The general layout of the accommodation unit, near the car park and also way into the resturant suited us as my husband is disabled using crutches All essentials provided No hesitation in coming back

Found people in the pubs very friendly and would recommend small local toy shop jolly’s toys & games. extra friendly and knowledgeable about the area, Would not recommend The Den at the Auburn Fox as hoovered whilst we were having cream tea and felt more of a nusiance to them rather than paying customers

Thrapston is very pretty and hasn't changed much The bridge hotel is on the river nene which is lovely. It is very near the motorway so handy for venturing out on day trips e.g. wickstead park in Kettering.

No heating in my entire stay, room not cleaned for two days, had to find the cleaner to organize my booked breakfast. This was very unpleasant as I ended up with a rotten cold. But find it very strange as stayed there previous many times & all not bad. Also I’m a overseas traveler.

Our room was very nice, very clean, we had a great night sleep the bed was very comfortable. The lady on reception was very helpful & friendly. Breakfast was great, cooked breakfast, but there was cereal & croissants with fresh toast & drinks. We did feel that the room was overpriced, but it was the nearest hotel to the wedding we were at.

Perfect for my business needs. The hotel is quiet (at least on that Monday evening), there is parking in the forecourt, and there was very strong WiFi for Teams meetings. The lady who checked us in and served at dinner made us feel very welcome and looked after us with enthusiasm.

I booked the hotel because of the price and the location - the outside of the hotel could do with some money spending on it but the room was clean, tidy, comfy bed and adequate bathroom. The staff were really friendly and breakfast was good.

It was a lovely room in a listed building. It was a shame that the hotel no longer served breakfast. It was a brief stay en route to a wedding nearby.
