What a wonderful place to stay in such an idyllic and peaceful location. Everything you need is available, of great quality, and Sue is a very nice engaging host, who is there to show where, and how it all works. The annexe is delightful, private, peaceful with everything at hand. Great wifi, quiet, with a small veranda to sit on, and listen to the stream running past and the birds singing. Near to many attractions, yet far enough away to be secluded in tranquil countryside. This is a beautiful part of the country, with great views, and small villages to see, and of course, nice country pubs, To base yourself here, you would not be disappointed. Had a wonderful nights stay and would galdy do so again.

Location - perfect. Off-road car parking provided.
Building clearly very old - beware profusion of very low beams in the dining / breakfast area! And other similar features throughout such as variations in floor level ... sloping ceilings in bedrooms ...

Stockbridge has a variety of lovely independent shops, cafes and pubs. There is free parking along the length of the village and lovely walks across the water meadows by the river Test. It's a great base for visiting some amazing gardens like Mottisfont, Houghton Lodge and Longstock. Also an easy 20 minute drive into Winchester which is a lovely day out.

The trout streams running at side of pavement are a delight, especially after dark when the trout can be seen swimming around.

A ribbon town over various tributeries of the River Test and the River itself. A lot of shops to facilitiate the very expensive chalk stream trout fishing, and other outdoor activities. Everyone we spoke to were very pleasant. Interesting gardens nearby (Houghton Lodge) and also the Leckworth (John Lewis) estate.

Overall it was satisfactory but it would have been better to have had 2 chairs in the double bedroom, rather than one person having to sit on the bed! Mayfly room above kitchen subject to appreciable noise from the kitchen equipment when being operated. Instructions for using internet unclear.

And when you write a review pointing out to the landlord that the promised breakfast never arrived....does he apologise ? No...does he do or say anything...No.
His food is excellent, but if I'm promised breakfast and he's sleeping off a hangover after a "lock in" with locals, well frankly that's not my problem....I paid for breakfast, you gave me nothing.....facts....
My suggestion to other travellers, Saturday dinner is very very good , don't expect breakfast.
wow this hotel was amazing! i ended up checking in really late (after a wedding) and they were super accommodating- plus the bed was extremely comfortable, it was quiet, and the breakfast was also amazing. the chef was really really good! i would highly recommend this place!
This country hotel is great value for money, the rooms are a very generous size, the food here is amazing, service is prompt and polite. I cannot recommend the White Hart strongly enough. I will definitely be staying again, and agian!!
I arrived early before my partner to take tea in the drawing room
Delightful and very helpful with my enquiries
Our room was so comfortable and in splendid surroundings in the garden mews
We are looking to come again before winter
Comfortable and clean room with good facilities. Very comfortable bed. Nice functional bathroom (with one problem, see below). It is a perfectly good place for an overnight stay in Hampshire.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Our meal was great in the restaurant and breakfast was good too. Our room was lovely and comfortable, great beds and shower, we’ll come again!
We stayed in the cottage which is a comfortable and welcoming property. The decor is great, the attention to detail is excellent and it’s position on Stockbridge High St is ideal.
Room was good, with decent beds and linen, nice bathroom products. Welcome was good without being over bearing. No problem about securely storing bicycles
