The staff were nice, the room and bathroom was a decent size and I thought the bed was comfortable (my partner did not), bottles water was left for us in the fridge, location is good if needing the town centre
It is a living village with proper shops. It had a small theatre which is a cinema as well. The local pubs are welcoming. There is a good garden nursery. The houses generally are built with Northampton stone which is a honey golden colour which to me is more attractive than Cotswold stone. The location of Moulton is excellent as it is suitable for walkers, also near to golf courses and other facilities. We were visiting friends nearby so didn’t eat in the pubs but have done in years gone by so can recommend the village. It has so much history. In the Poplars there are local informative booklets. So enjoy the area and the welcome at The Poplars.

The Poplars is a hidden gem.
The Poplars is a hidden gem. It’s in a lovely peaceful location. Staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. We were offered flapjacks and fruit as an act of kindness due to our arrival time and given a map of the local area with plenty of practical tips for local pubs, parks etc.
My cousin stayed for breakfast as a visitor despite it being extremely busy. The staff can’t do enough to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The church is attractive and active, with a curious piece of Saxon sculpture at the end of the South aisle. The (large) village has a number of houses well-worth admiring, from handsome town houses to cottages, mostly in the warm reddened local limestone; there are enough shops to avoid the need to go into Northampton for any but special needs. Two pubs serve meals, as does The Poplars hotel on some days. From Thursday to Sunday (when we were there) the J Gallery serves excellent coffee and stages exhibitions of work, often by local artists. On our visit the quality of this work was remarkable.
Beautiful hotel in the historic part of Moulton (we walked the Moulton trail to learn something about the history). The comfortable rooms are clean and have good beds . More than friendly and helpfull staff and the cooked breakfast is as great as you expect in England. There are 3 pubs in walking distance, from which 2 serve food. During our stay there was sufficient parking space for the car.
It was a last minute choice I chose I regret I never stayed in my life over 34 years even 3 world nations are far bette, I have also spoken to the landlord who asked me to feedback to you this is going to ruin hotel.com. I am also taken few photos during my stay due to post in all social media platforms to address Name and Shame to the Publics.
The owner Susan went above and beyond with her hospitality and helping us out with a couple of unforeseen issues unrelated to the hotel.
Loads of brilliant local information both before and during our stay. Wouldn’t hesitate to revisit.
there is nothing good about the property! avoid it at all cost. No customer service. check in no means to access my key. Had to book another hotel.
